~

Hello~ Team Psychic. Yes, I made another team... Bite me

From left to right, Peter (Slowpoke), Mamoru (Mewtwo), Ai (Mew), Bing (Chingling), and Daley (Chimecho).

Continuing on with this Team theme (it rhymes!), we've got Mamoru and Ai as the mutual leaders of Team Psychic, who are also a couple, their two subordinates, Peter and Daley, and their cute little Chingling mascot, Bing.

They, unlike Team Evolution and Team Poison, are good guys. And also unlike those two other teams, there are BOYS on this team. Three whole boys! :'D

Yes, Daley the Chimecho is a BOY. Just a super adorable one.

Oh and I just created Daley solely because I need four gijinka per team, so he is actually adoptable! If you'd like Daley, he's 5. Just comment asking for him, if I give the okay, transfer points and he's all yours. Once he's yours you may change the name and use him for whatever purpose~

Ai and Mamoru belong to:

Peter belongs to:

Daley belongs to:

and Bing belongs to me!

:'D Really! That WAS fast! Haha! I'm really impressed. So the adoptables sold?

One. ONE ADOPT SOLD. I just managed to get a few llama-for-points trades, too. So, sending points!

Aw, don't fret, I know they'll go fast! And yay! Now I can draw the separate Dley picture for you!

Meh, I really rushed my last set, but that's because I was getting impatient, I only needed ONE MORE POINT by then.

And YES, can't wait to see it!

But why in the world did I give him such a complicated outfit! :'D Damn kimonos and their various folds...

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 21:04:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I bet that's hard to make. I could never draw cloth right, it would always seem one side was from one perspective, and the other one vice versa. ;3;

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 21:05:23 +0000 UTC]

Tell. me. about. it! Not even kidding, but making all these gijinkas is an awesome practice for drawing different kinds of clothes ^^

:L Yeah, I can see how it's helpful practice, with all the different types of clothing you have to draw!

Haha, I know right~ There, I think I've got his outfit to look acceptable. Now the most tedious part! Inking! :'D

Oh, bleh! I never ink well enough. It looks better than just my pencil outline, but I always have a really big sections where the ink pools.

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 21:17:15 +0000 UTC]

Like you've probably noticed, I ink each picture in a specific way. I love doing it because it almost always turns out nice, but it tales a long time! :'D Worth it? Yea probably...

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 21:19:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I think it's probably worth it, even though I don't really know how much more work it is :3 I for one, really like the style, so I'm guessing at least a good fraction of your customers do, too. ^^

Blarg, I want a piece of this 'team' action! And Daley is freaking adorable. FREAKING ADORABLE.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 01:43:07 +0000 UTC]

Aw, thanks love; Daley is the definition of AFSDZFSDFGV SO CUTE!

But beside the point, I'm doin' this 'thing' I guess, since a few deviants seem to like the team concept in which I draw them, as in they themselves, as the pokemon of their choosing, and then I place them on a team.

wanted me to draw her gijinka self, the Mew, on a team so I put her together with three others~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 01:47:52 +0000 UTC]

It's definitely a good idea! Even just as the team! You could draw gijinka versions of people's pokemon teams, or friends as a team, or just a team to sell adoptables! The ideas are limitless!

And I have to ask, can you put him on hold? I'm about to upload a new adoptable, and hopefully, with my new 'name you price' philosophy, someone will adopt it soon.

Teehee, I'm starting to become a regular customer. They're just SO ADORABLE THOUGH. I'll eventually learn to control myself. Eventually.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 01:54:37 +0000 UTC]

Haha, allow me to nonchalantly write down that idea for future use...

And of course, I can put him on hold :'D I'm just glad you like him and all his adorableness~ I'm sure you'll get buyers right away! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 02:21:39 +0000 UTC]

That's perfectly fine, even if I WANTED to use the ideas for myself, I wouldn't be nearly as successful as you would be.

-reads newest journal- And if you need help with names if types start repeating, I can probably help. Names are actually the one thing I'm pretty good at figuring out, even when it takes a little time.

As for my adoptable, it's apparently not selling anytime soon (if at all). I really want to keep this on hold, just at the off chance I DO get the points soon, but I don't want to keep it if it's a fruitless attempt, and deny you any points after waiting. Humph. Well, I ask you to keep it on hold for me tonight. Hopefully someone stumbles upon my adopts and is taken with one.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 02:25:19 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, love!

And that'd be great! If you'd help me with the names, I mean. I love making names, but I often repeat myself many times when I really like names.

As for putting Daley on hold, it's totally fine; I'm not saving up fo anything, just getting points for the sake of points. So it doesn't matter how long it takes you to get the points

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 02:33:22 +0000 UTC]

Me too, a few names I'm using in my story sound a lot like each other, like Atorie (going by Torie eventually) and Tiri. Luckily, I manage to keep the characters away from each other.

And if it's really all right with you, then thanks! I'll be sure to upload a huge pile of adoptables tomorrow, to really increase my chances of selling! ;3;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 02:38:06 +0000 UTC]

Unlike you where yours are just similar, I must say I've got a good dozen Michaels floating around in my note and sketch books. :'D

And yesh, I really like the adoptable you make in color!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 02:58:29 +0000 UTC]

Well, I could give you suggestions as to how to figure out unique names. There's not really any knack or talent to it, you just need to know where to look. :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 03:14:01 +0000 UTC]

Oh really? So what do you do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 03:32:33 +0000 UTC]

Another way that I choose names is to go with ancient names. I'm a huge (HUGE) fan of Ancient Greece, and I found this website: [link] It gives this uber long list of Ancient Greek names, as well as their meanings, masculine/feminine versions, and derived names!

So, for this one character (number 2) [link] I had an idea that he would be going through a lot, losing a lot. He's the only winged wolf in his pack, so he's isolated, then kicked out/abandoned. So, I went looking through the list, and found Achilles (yes, I already knew the name, but hadn't really thought of it), and saw that it meant 'pain'. Obviously, then, I named him Achilles, because it's all that he is at the beginning. And, if it hadn't seemed to fit, I would have looked at the names derived from it, or made my own version, like I did for Sunog.

Another example is number 1 on this sheet [link] I saw him as the guard/defender of...well, something important that's going to be in my adopt-story. So, when I looked through the list, I saw that Alexius means 'helper' or 'defender.' Alexius didn't seem to fit, though, and neither did any of the derivatives. So, I made my own up. Now, my gryphon is named Lexius (not that original from Alexius, but hey it works).

I adore ancient Greece! I'm a total history buff! :'D That's why I love hetalia~ But what you're saying definitely makes sense, and gawd I love the nam Achilles~

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 03:40:20 +0000 UTC]

Me too! And I hope these ideas help you find names in the future! Having named almost forty characters using this method, I think I can say it's definitely helped me!

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 04:50:49 +0000 UTC]

Well, I've been forcefully given the nickname Kiki (ironically, it's LONGER than my actual name) by a couple friends, so that works. ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 04:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Alright, Kiki! Forcefully given though? How does that work? Haha! You can call me Brynne~ ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 04:55:52 +0000 UTC]

All righty, can do! And yeah, forcefully given. Not sure how it happened, I don't even look like a Kiki. I guess it's all the K's (my name starts with a K). I'm just testing out the nickname, really, right now. If I don't adjust to it eventually, I'm just going to go by my ACTUAL name.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 05:02:48 +0000 UTC]

Well, I think you look like a Kiki Haha! Hope that wasn't an insult! I WISH I had a nickname. Not even kidding. There are no nicknames for Brynne. Not one. Because it is so short already. And I don't look like anything BUT a Brynne. But it's such an annoying name to have. Whenever there's a sub at school and there's role call, I place bets with my friends on how badly they're going to eff up pronouncing it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 05:08:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm a lot nicer here on dA, everywhere else I'm quite violent, maybe that's why I'm not thought of as a Kiki, the name's too nice.

And don't even get me STARTED on pronunciation. Look at my name, and tell me how you think it's pronounced.

Kya.

That's all it is. Three SIMPLE FREAKING LETTERS. And yeah, there's no nickname for me, either, that's why I was so surprised when my friends told me I had a nickname. But like I said, pronunciation. I have a friend in school, his name is sort of Indian, and and we always see which name the teachers mess up on, his or mine. It's usually mine.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 05:11:04 +0000 UTC]

Okay, honestly, no clue on the pronunciation! I've met my name match! Do you have any clue on mine? I suppose mine is easier, though it's a single syllable for all those letters crammed into it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 05:18:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh my jello, and my name is TWO SYLLABLES crammed into a tiny three-letter name!

Well, I was thinking it's pronounced Brin (don't know any other way to spell the pronunciation), actually.

And my name's actually pronounced K-eye-yuh. I was named after the wife in the movie 'Willow' (great movie, but I think it's ironic I was named after a short person (like a hobbit, but not LOTR), and I'm the tallest in my family).

But yeah, you ever seen the show Avatar: The Last Airbender? Katara's mom? My name's there too. It used to be spelled Kia, but EVERYONE (literally) would call me KEE-yuh. Not fun to be thought of as a car company. So I had it legally changed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 05:22:08 +0000 UTC]

You got it right believe it or not! Brin. But spelled Brynne...? And most people say Breen Brine or Brian.

To be honest, I thought the pronunciation was going to be like Kia, but at first I thought it was something like k-YAH. Like something a comic book character would yell when slashing something with a sword, KYAH!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

UncommonlyNormal In reply to Prushia [2012-06-07 05:28:14 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, my name's said like that in Japan, by a lot of fangirls. A LOT. It's usually typed out like, "kyaaaaaaaaaaa!! <3333" Just another thing to add to my list of 'What My Named is Used In/For' -_- lol.

And sweet! I was thinking that from the start, actually. But I could see how teachers would mispronounce it, I think. Plus, well, teachers have called me Kyra, or, I don't even know; it's pronounced K-eye-ruh. So, they get the first part, but then, for some reason, they add an R. WHAT THE F*CK'S WITH THE R?!!?!??! DOES IT JUST MANIFEST ITSELF IN THEIR MINDS?!?! I've been getting a LOT of Kyra's lately, actually. I just, CAN'T wrap my head around where they get it. -_-

~~~Okay, my rant is over (it's getting late, so I'm getting hyper, obviously)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Prushia In reply to UncommonlyNormal [2012-06-07 05:31:11 +0000 UTC]
Haha! I've gotten some strange ones as well. Once I was called Brill? I don't even- But I've ranted many times to random people so most of my rage is gone at this point! Haha!
And it's getting late for me as well, but hey! It's summer so screw sleep, I've got three months to ruin my internal clock and have myself be brutally beaten by the beginning of the next school year!
