I had originally made this design for Link for a modern Zelda story concept, but that was going nowhere, so I used it for Nintendo High instead.

Link is somewhat of the quiet type, though those who are close to him know he's incredibly kind and generous. He cares deeply for his friends and family, and woe unto anyone who thinks of hurting them. During school breaks, he has a part-time job at Lon Lon Ranch where he helps to care for the horses and cattle. He has a particular preference for a Clydesdale mare named Epona, after whom he named his motorcycle. When Link's father passed, he was willed a small collection of antique swords, including one with a blue hilt that has more than one story behind it.

(I cite the Ocarina of Time manga for Epona's breed. On one of the bonus illustrations that features Adult Link on Epona with her rearing back, there is a note reading, "I think horses add an artistic element. I'm happy they used a Clydesdale for Zelda. In Japan, people tend to draw thoroughbreds like the kind for horse racing. I think this is much better.")
