I haven't seen any for years and this year I've seen
half a dozen including these two...cuddling.
Thanks Jessie, it's just a little snapshot but I was so tickled
to find them.

They were along a woods trail I walk every day, and it was the pale coloring that I first noticed,
thought it was a weird leaf, then decided it was one mangled luna moth, then realized with no small degree
of joy that it was two! Cuddling! The male is the smaller, though his antennae are bigger and bushier.

It really made my day, I was so excited! At first I thought they were weird leaves, then
I thought they were one mangled moth, then I realized it was two! Had to finish walking the dogs,
run home, get my camera and run back, hoping they were still there, and they were.

I was so excited to find them! Usually they're only out at night
I'm assuming their timing is off because it's been rainy and cool lately.
They'll both be dead within a few days, too. Only live about a week, to mate and lay eggs. Thanks Lisa!!

The adults don't eat--they don't even have mouths.
