========================

This story was written before "Skyward Sword" came out, and when "Skyward Sword" explained a bit more about the Zelda backstory, I decided to stick with my original story and not rewrite it. For that reason, the origin story of how the bird came to be on Hyrule's royal sigil is completely different, as are some of the legends that followed, like "The Legend of Fallinor and Bellatrix". Still, I actually prefer my OWN Zelda mythology, since I'm not a big fan of Skyward Sword (can't deal with the controls) LOL

Don't feel bad, even with out its control problems Skyward Sword is still a horrible tak on to the already suffering mythology. It really didn't explain anything and every time it tried to address any part of the mythos it only made things even more convoluted. Its own story being a complete mess didn't make things better.

Well, I was so put off by the controls I had to get a friend to play it through for me. Otherwise I would have gotten through it! I kept up with the story from Youtube video uploads, and I have to agree with you about it being convoluted... but apparently they're release Hyrule Historie to un-confuse everyone? Anyone have that book?

That takes the convolutedness to a completely different level. They add to SS' jab at old school fans about oral tradition not being accurate by saying that there's a second split caused in OoT when Link is killed by Ganondorf and that the original four games take place on that line. The problems with that is 1) That there is no point in OoT where Link could have lost given what ALttP gave us about his power let alone durring that last fight. 2)The old men that told Link about the Imprisoning War were members of the original Seven Sages so all that info came from first hand experience. 3) There are multiple male Gerudo in ALttP so that whole idea that they were cursed that OoT no longer makes sense.

Another thing that I didn't like about SS is that it really shows how Nintendo has forgotten what the series is supposed to be about. They'd rather use cheap tricks then run the risk of alienating people by making an engaging story.

You can't explain them well because the interal logic of the series has to be turned off for curtain events to take place and some events are fluid in nature at this point.
