Go ahead and try to make sense of this drawing!It came from a very vague idea of how Aang could easily be turned into an effective villain if he had killed Ozai. After all, he'd be an insanely powerful individual who cares very deeply about the things he believes in, but also considers himself able to judge the worth of another human life. And that spawned the idea of an exiled Azula trying to reclaim her throne while the Gaang, in an effort to create a world-wide utopia, become more and more, well, evil.
Zuko and Katara are obviously the Avatar's right-hand men. As Fire Lord and Bloodbender, they're invaluable to his efforts.
Edit 8/12: Wow! I hadn't even heard of this "Justice Lords" business until posting this! But after having been educated on what everyone was talking about, I agree that this it totally in the same vein!

I like this idea! You don't see alternate universes in worlds like this were the good are the evil and the evil are the good(or in Azula's case, better). And comparing them to the Justice Lords is just perfect!
Question, is Ty Lee fighting along Azula in this series? Cause if they were, it be awesome if they were able to make up and work together. Azula's strong, but even she can't take on all three when they're in charge. Also, I think she would like the company hint hint

this sounds amazing! what is blood lords? sorry about this being late, theres a fic called dystopia that referenced this as the author's inspiration to write. an awesome concept I must say. I also must admit I'm happy you made katara actually look somewhat black, as I've seen some artists make her completely white or asian.

Have you heard of an anime/manga series called Death Note? The main character there has good intentions but he's very idealistic and ends up becoming corrupted trying to create a "perfect world free of crime". It sounds pretty similar to what you tried with Avatar here and I think you'd enjoy it.

Well, the fic "Embers" by Vathara kind of paints him in a negative light like that. He is so certain of his "right way" that he forgot that there are other opinions, customs, and peoples around besides his own airbender ways. He was not evil but combined with his power and innocent ways, he was capable of causing great destruction that hurt people in the end. Kind of like how he allied with the Ocean and took on the Fire Nation fleet at the Northern Water tribe city. He did it to save people in the end but in reality, the state that he was in wouldn't have been able to discern friend from foe.
Not such a great story for Kataang or Aang fans but still an awesome story none the less. Kind of shows another side to the story and shows that there are usually reasons behind peoples actions or that the world isn't so black and white. Heroes can also be villains even while they are trying to save the world.
Great fanart by the way. It is nice to understand that even those who are good among us should be careful in what they do. It can be easy for those in power to turn.

I don't think it would happen in the Avatar universe, though. The Avatar is connected to the Spirit World, so I'm sure the peace-loving spirits would put an end to the corrupted avatar.
My favorite part about this picture is Katara. Her position and expression suggest that she could be the mastermind behind the whole Utopia biz, sorta controlling Aang.

Very cool. The idea is awesome, of course, and I like how you captured the essence of al the characters in older faces. There's actually a fic based on this over on fanfiction.net, by name of Dystopia. Which just proves how awesome this is.

well, i'm not sure how azula would oppose the worldwide utopia the Gaang are putting up since a) she's crazy now and b) that's what she and her father have been doing, although yeah, who better to oppose the Gaang than the greatest, smartest villain ever. perhaps her time in lockup cleansed her of evil just in time to see that aang is becoming a tyrant like her father.

That reminds me of Death Note - the main character has the power to rid the world of those who he thinks corrupt it (criminals) and by doing so, becomes evil himself...
He has lackeys and everything, one of whom is his "girlfriend"
