A hardy race of feline Amazons, the Mithra are natural-born hunters with refined senses and graceful natures. Unlike the Okami and Labayu, Mithra are more human than animal; though their features tend to be feline in nature – complete with pronounced vulpine-style ears, slender tails and cat-like noses – their bodies are smooth-skinned and entirely human in proportion. What truly distinguishes the Mithra as a race, however, is their deeply skewed gender ratio; on average, in every ten births, only one will be male.

Centuries of imbalanced breeding have left females tending towards the toned and slender, towering over their male counterparts in every respect; both genders dress lightly to combat the heat, preferring bright, colorful fabrics. Face-paint and tattoos – marks of status and accomplishment in the Mithra tribes – are common among older females, even among those Mithra living in more ‘civilised’ countries; though society evolves from day to day, some traditions die hard.
