Description This is a big file. If things are too small to read, just hit download.

Strengths
- clever, witty, intelligent
- capable of extra strength via negative vibes

Weaknesses
- mad and diseased*
- defenseless
- multiple fears (losing control, self-destruction, 'God', birds)
- unsociable, hated
- possibility of being killed by simple affections

*Disease- neurological disease similar to CJD (aka human 'mad cow' disease). Affects the brain, brain's dying. Transmissible through blood and brainmatter. Symptoms that may effect him at times are dementia, memory loss, hallucinations and personality changes, as well as physical symptoms such as the sensitivity to light, sound and touch, he may undergo rare seizures and, more commonly, jerky movements. It's fatal- but for some reason he ain't died yet. I blame the big void in his chest.

*The Void/Hole and Emotions- the brain and body contain electricity, and when in high states of certain emotions, these electrical charges also increase (which is a reason some sensitive people can claim they recieve 'vibes' off of someone when they're upset). It's this same electrical vibe that feeds the Void, and thus Icarus. When in contact with mild doses of electricity (say the same level of voltage used to treat a patient with electro-shock therapy), it has a beneficial effect on him, the same level as a bunch of negative emotions would. However, it is likely his skin will still burn and blister, etc.

Interactions
- Argumentative: Icarus is the equivalent to an internet troll. He will argue just for the sake of bickering, and has many comebacks ready.
- Dramatic: Can have a flair for drama. Will say things because they sound 'right', no matter the situation.
- Lewd: He can (is not always!) be a pervert, but will always insinuate that he's a necrophiliac. Does not and will not hit on people, and is never interested in a relationship. Loathes rape and pedophilia, contrary to popular belief.
- A*hole: He's a jerk. He can be so difficult to be around, you have no idea.

*The Doctor
- Seems to be a real doctor. He's got the skills, and if his hands would stop shaking, he'd be able to use them perfectly. But that wouldn't stop him from trying.
- Twitchy, paranoid. Always acts like he's going to get hit. Often swats at his eat, as if something's buzzing there.
- Stutters and stammers, and has a completely different expression set than his Other.
- Seems to avoid violence, doesn't handle stress well, and is never 'around' for too long unless Icarus has a good reason not to regain his being.
- Some (but not all) triggers for 'the doctor' to emerge are his own pain, a hurt child, or by Icarus' silence or boredom.
- The doctor's name is Awais.

Any questions, wonderings, etc? Ask.

(Thanks to =ImYourNumber1Moron for giving me the miracle that is SAI. Now I can copy/paste things together.)

Also, I put together a little playlist of songs that are on Icarus' playlist. By no means are these the bulk of them. XD Just a few I picked. [link]

Wow, he's dangerous. I'd hate to be in the same area as him or I'd be dead very quickly. His clothed version (hat and coat) reminds me of an ankou (Breton grim reaper). [link]

Ahahahah, I love these sorts of comments. c: They make me happy, so.

You've got a good eye! I actually did not base his clothing off of the Ankou, but now that I double-take, there really is a huge semblance! That's amazing. XD Thanks for pointing that out.

I have to say Icarus is one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen. He's utterly repugnant in every way, but the 'Good Doctor' hiding inside is really intriguing...it makes me wonder a great deal about his story.

As far as the art itself goes...holy excellent. Very nice, detailed work--it really fleshes out the character nicely.

Oh my- thank you! You're just leaving little nice comments everywhere and I'm -really- honored by this, because your own artwork is like ten times more impressive than I could ever manage. ;u; Thank you so much.

Actually, there'll be some revealed about him in HotelHaven if I make it in. :3 Going to use that opportunity like whoa.

You're so welcome. Though it's nowhere near true that my art is more impressive than yours--I wish I could capture emotion and expression half as well as you do.

I'm hoping like crazy that Icarus gets in--he would make things verrry interesting! I hope you get the opportunity to expand his story with Hotel Haven.

He's a really big jerk, mostly- an that's putting it lightly -but in relative terms, yes. He could be considered evil.

Icarus is nobody's friend. xD You'd have NO problems finding a foe in Icarus- he's like an internet troll, only worse.

qui-non-stultus In reply to Dalmonite [2010-06-29 22:53:23 +0000 UTC]

Yes. This is how it 'usually' is for the canon Icarus/Awais.

qui-non-stultus In reply to Dalmonite [2010-07-01 02:01:20 +0000 UTC]

XD Considering Icarus' state, I don't think burning would be much worse..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dalmonite In reply to qui-non-stultus [2010-07-01 02:05:51 +0000 UTC]

Oh right, cause then he'll be like a fire zombie, and nothing is much worse than when it's still alive and on fire. What a kick he'll get.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

qui-non-stultus In reply to Dalmonite [2010-07-01 02:11:07 +0000 UTC]

XD Well he'd hurt a lot and would probably DIE but if there's negative vibes around he'd live through it.. 8C Okay that'd suck for him.

Bad thing is, though, when he's in pain he has a tendency to put Awais 'in charge', so it'd be Awais in pain.. ;; baaaaw, we can't win.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dalmonite In reply to qui-non-stultus [2010-07-01 02:16:07 +0000 UTC]

He'd probably get a negative vibe if he'd charged at someone while on fire. I would freak out.

No one wins when fire is involved. Or Icky.

What if he got struck by lightning (and didn't sustain deadly injuries or brain damage, obviously)? Would he be all like or would that be an overload?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

qui-non-stultus In reply to TheWhiteCrayon [2010-06-28 16:56:26 +0000 UTC]

That would be something.. both horrible and awesome for him. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the power would be so much that it'd begin to become crippling.. sort of like being tickled so much that the wind gets knocked out of you, you're shaking for a bit afterwards, or you pee yourself.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheWhiteCrayon In reply to qui-non-stultus [2010-06-28 16:58:12 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

qui-non-stultus In reply to TheWhiteCrayon [2010-06-28 17:00:35 +0000 UTC]

...that is a good way to put it, if I understand it correctly. I've only ever read those big ol' graphic novels for Akira. xD But pretty much, yes. Like getting 'roided up, it's awesome, but there's such serious drawbacks that it's not entirely good for him.

Oooh, oooh quick question. What if he were to encounter two energies/emotions/people, one extremely positive and the other extremely negative?

Would it just balance out to normal or something? o:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

qui-non-stultus In reply to Uniquely-Unoriginal [2010-06-28 15:25:41 +0000 UTC]

Pretty much. The positivity would harm him, but the negativity would make up for that. It wouldn't have no effect, he'd certainly feel both. XD It'd be frustrating as hell..

Thanks for the question!

And I love answering questions. c: Never be afraid to ask.

Positivity-overdose-Icarus is possible the most pathetic, broken old man I've ever seen. D: I would hug him but the affection would just kill him. Heh. Also, as a person raised on the health channel, I like the detail you put into his disease. Realistic illness, whoo~

I wonder what happen if Helix will "help" him a little bit with her power of solace...Will he blow up or just fall in pieces?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

qui-non-stultus In reply to Charanty [2010-05-15 12:46:56 +0000 UTC]

Depends. XD Since solace is pretty much a peace of mind, it'd be neutral. >_> Icarus' comfort is different from the average fellow's comfort. He can be comforted by dead puppies and the stench of decay, afterall.

However, if the solace is more of a positive force (because I can see how a creature such as Helix forcing a certain emotion rather than something that would work on all creatures), you'd have a peeling Icarus.

But if she even gets close enough to use it, that means she's close enough to get stabbed in the face. WHICH IS A COMFORT FOR ICARUS ANYWAY 8) he hates everyone.

Tee hee, good question is good.
