Yeah but then again if it was after, it would be weird
having her kid brother protecting her as an adult, lion
guard or not. Also it adds more onto Scar's backstory rather
than just he was jealous of Mufasa and wanted to be king, it
added to the motivation. After losing everything including the power
of The Roar and killing his own Lion Guard, he not only wanted the crown
but blamed Mufasa for everything he lost so he intended for Mufasa to lose
everything as well.
