This is part three of a long-running four-part trade with . I decided to be very ambitious with my four-seasons project back in 2012, though I'd not thought I would take *quite* so long to get through the projects.

What slowed me down was the fact that I had to build the projects with real mediums first, then fully rebuild them digitally so that I could make prints (and something to post) - by scanning each element beforehand, cleaning and isolating it digitally, then placing it in a composite composition. Very tedious. This time, I planned ahead and scanned each layer as I constructed it, PRIOR to gluing the layers into their shadowbox frame. What took me 30 hours with Spring and Winter took me about 2 hours with Summer! Yay, I evolved!

This project has a lot of different stuff in it, as you can probably imagine.

The outer mat is acrylic with glitter and some flower-shaped rhinestones.

The middle mat has an acrylic base topped with assorted beads and rhinestones, metal embellishments, and enamel dots.

The background also is an acrylic base over which everything else is glued. There are fern stickers, aventurine stones (they're small green ovals; hard to see here), rhinestones, pearly bits, star stickers and beads, and one big, fat quartz stone (the orange teardrop). The dragon is Prismacolor pencil, ink, and gold paint pen.
