The logic is probably that it was so hot that the ice would turn almost immediately in to steam. Either that, or Pokemon goes by different physics.
Love the expressions, btw, especially Archie's "WTF MAXIE?!"

Point. If it's too hot, though, it might stay in the atmosphere. At least theoretically.

It makes me happy to see you still alive and kicking, and producing such kickass (not to mention hilarious!) work, too! I'm still as big of a fan as I ever was, haha--and the art here really reminds me how I fell in love with your style in the first place. You and Pokemon have always been a great combo, too! Like peanut butter and jelly...or tentacles and...uhh, never mind! XD
The last panel is definitely my favorite--everyone's reactions are priceless (and DAT GROUDON, LOL) but I love Archie's face in the third so much...and hey, you know me--I appreciated Maxie muffling Brendan for a second there, haha. BTW, Brendan looks awesome in your style--I think there's something about the Hoenn trainer designs in particular that suits your art very, very well.
Assuming you're still around there, there's a chance I could go to Melbourne in January for my cousins' wedding, so maybe--jsut MAYBE I'll finally get the chance to finally pay you a visit, but we'll see. None of my previous plans have worked out, after all.
As always, keep up the great work!

Heeeeeeey dood. How's the weight gaining plan works.
Yeah I love Groudon. I used to draw it chibi all the time so I'm used to draw it cute!
You don't say! Gen 3 was my very first Pokemon game and everything about that gen just clicked with me so well it sprung me into making pixel edits. I mean, who could forget the original Pokemon Ranger sprite??Β www.serebii.net/pokearth/trainβ¦
DUDE WTF YOU HAVE FAMILY IN MELBOURNE OH GOSH.
Let's hope for the best.

Oh geez, the weight-gaining thing. I've tried just about everything short of steroids--eating lots of fatty food, drinking protein shakes, I even took up kickboxing for a while--but apparently it's a hereditary trait from my grandpa. Whatever I do, I just don't gain weight easily at all. I feel like I have some kind of hyper-metabolism or something. A lot of people actually seem to envy me for it, though. XD
Gen III was your first? I'm not sure I ever knew that until now--but it certainly makes sense. Do you still have any of this Chibi Groudon art hanging around DA? I don't remember seeing any!
Yep, I sure do! I want to say I mentioned it in a PM once a looong time ago, so I can't blame you for not remembering. My cousins live just outside of Melbourne, but I don't get to see them very often because of how far away they live, so this next January might be a good opportunity if all goes well. Of course, if you're ever out in the San Francisco area again like that one December a few years back (I barely missed you that time!) that might work too. We'll just have to see how things go!

Don't worry, I have not gained a single kg from since I was 15. I have been stuck on 50 kgs so firmly it's as if my body literally tries to just keep it that way.
Oh, the chibi Groudon was just doodles I do in my spare time, I have never submitted it here. But there are plenty of chibi Groudons around for you to feast your eyes at!
Let's keep in touch then!

Really? You too? Well, that makes me feel a bit better about it--ironically enough, it sounds like we're both around the same weight anyhow!
For sure! I do have some news (and it's surprisingly, it's very GOOD news!) to report about that, so I'll definitely be sending you a note later as soon as I get the chance!

Txeptirea [2015-07-15 13:40:57 +0000 UTC]
Could it be that Hoenn doesn't have polar ice caps? And actually, having more water in the atmosphere, and having it be at a higher temperature, would indeed cause it to escape the planet faster, reducing the amount of water in the cycle. It would just take about a billion years to remove most of the ocean...
I can explain the mechanism in full if you're curious, but I do have a tendency to ramble on about something like that ^^
π: 0 β©: 1
RadenWA In reply to Txeptirea [2015-07-16 09:40:40 +0000 UTC]
why not you explain how is it possible for an earth-like planet to exist without a polar ice cap?
π: 0 β©: 1
Txeptirea In reply to RadenWA [2015-07-16 11:18:32 +0000 UTC]
Easy enough. Polar ice caps are a relatively recent phenomenon. Throughout the majority of the Mesozoic and Paleozoic Eras, from about 520-65 million years ago, there was no year-round ice on the planet.

there were no civilization, either. Which means the climate might've not been ideal for human settlement?
π: 0 β©: 1
Txeptirea In reply to RadenWA [2015-07-17 18:07:12 +0000 UTC]
Well, for humans, certainly. However, the climate was just fine for the organisms that evolved during that period, some of which may have been more intelligent than humans.

Txeptirea In reply to RadenWA [2015-07-18 14:47:01 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's a fictional world, so it plays by a different set of rules, I'd imagine. I had thought you had meant on Earth XD
Well, I know for a fact that all ice-type Pokemon would go extinct, and habitats would shift, but it would be overall quite possible for humans to survive. Just head inland! (Lavaridge would be a good choice, in my opinion)
