Thanks Ans. It was really hard finding reflective moments, they (husband as well) always had smiles on their faces, even when cameras were not pointed at them. just kidding....for the most part. I do like variety.

It can be when you open up to all the small things.

An absolutely gorgeous photo, she looks so happy, friendly and warm ! I'm getting married next year and we aren't having a wedding photographer as such. Everyone will be invited to snap away then send us photos later, and I'm hoping that some may even turn out as well as this one (fingers crossed).

Thanks Ani, and congratulations. That's a good way to do it and it's pretty much what Will and Elainie did. The only difference was they knew our pics from two other "events" and had a little confidence in us. Find that friend who can and will take 1400 pictures. That usually ends in some success... don't tell them about the days it will take to go through them all and edit them ...I am still doing some of that.
oh yeah, give them one piece of wedding photog advice ( which I received)----light always on the forward shoulder of the bride, the Bride is the center of everything. There are a million "tricks," most of which I forgot.

Thank you so much for your lovely reply . I have a few friends who might be willing to share the 'photographer's job' - non of them are any where near professional tho. so I'm looking forward to seeing what they can come up with. Unfortunately I'm not very photogenic (is that the right word?) so they've really got a challenge to get a good one of me where I'm not pulling some strange face

I would say anyone feeling happy is "photogenic"--the opposite is true as well, For me "photogenic" is just a point in time where we see within, it has nothing to do with the external "accepted norms of beauty." Pull the strange faces, they are the best ones. Thirty years later those will be your favorites.
