Description Some trees stop growing for no reason. All the other trees are fine but one is not normal...
Maybe because someone carved things into it, you don't know.... you just know that tree has been driven insane.

I would love to do a painting of this tree if I have your permission to do so.

If you don't mind, would you email me a copy of this picture so I can print it out for a reference? If you mind, that's ok and I understand!

Carving things into trees can affect its health, but here the paths in the trunk are actually from a burrowing worm. Trees can die without notice for many reasons, sometimes if the soil is very heavy ( like clay ) Too much water is held in it when it rains and the roots can be left soaking in water for weeks or months and this is when bacteria and fungal attack set in and kill it. But the opposite can happen and lack of rain can be fatal too...Of course, people tend to forget that trees, like all living things do have a life expectancy and when they breach that, they die.

Just thought I'd share some lesser known reasons why trees can kick the bucket.

Amazingly enough, it didn't die. It was shot in winter and sprouted leaves in spring again. I love that little tree!

Oh, well any tree that does that is called "Deciduous". They shed their leaves to help reduce exposure to cold weather and powerful winds, but if you look closely, you'll see tiny bumps on the fine twigs which are leaf-buds just waiting to sprout when the weather warms up.

In Winter, you can tell a dead tree from a decidous one by scratching off some bark, if the layer underneath is green, then it is alive and will grow again in Spring. If it is brown or grey, then the tree is gone for good.

Very, very cool.
How do you know so much about trees?

Well plants and nature have been one of my main interests since I was a kid, but only about 5 years ago I started getting really into it and did some research on my own as I found the way trees live and grow to be fascinating, plus more botanical knowledge helps me out when caring for my bonsai trees and other plants.

Nice shot, nice angle, but I think it might be better if its black n white,
and play with level on PSP to get perfect dark color and create dark atmosphere
coz I reckon the texture will be crispier n crunchier, its only my opinion anyway
Nice work
