About two weeks ago my best friend from my college days =trickylaughter joined me for a photo expedition at the Eastern State Penitentiary and the Franklin Institute Science Museum both in Philadelphia.
The Franklin Institute Science Museum [link] founded in 1824. It is named after Benjamin Franklin and it is one of the oldest centers for education and development in United States. Its success as a museum stems from its ability to make science interesting and accessible to everyone. Due to its “hands on” nature in allowing people to become involved in exhibits and through its many daily science demonstrations and presentations, the museum has been a family favorite for generations.
Besides just being a museum the Institute is home to The Franklin Center and The Center for Innovation in Science Learning. More of which can be read about here. [link]

This is the Pendulum Stairwell. The pendulum knocks over pins not unlike chess pawns every 26 minutes.
