I think what the guys up here are talking about is the vertical size of the shot. you have to roll downwards to see the whole shot. which in the case of this picture I think helps; because it helps the feeling of the lady being small, in the middle of this enourmous buildings.
but it usually works just the opposite way.
about the what the first guy said, being that the viewer´s sight wonders around the shot aimlessly, I don´t quite agree. I find that the only distraction to perfectly seeing the old woman are the cars, but there´s nothing you could´ve done about it.
I find this to be a great picture. well done.

you've requested in a thread in the deviation thumbshare forum some suggestions to improve your work.
please don't take anything personal, i'm just trying to help out:
your images have quality, soft, without noise, focused, without any motion-blurr. but judging by all your submissions, the only thing you do to these photos is desaturate them. i understand you don't want to over-edit them, but with the compact camera that you have(and many others do, including me) we have to compensate with something. i strongly suggest, after desaturation, to play with the levels a bit, make the contrast stronger, toogle with the brightness levels, in order to atract the eye. looking at your photo above, my eyes simply stroll around it pointlessly.all i can see is different blurbs of grey.adjust your submission size. i have the biggest resolution option and when i full-view the image doesn't fit into my screen.and as i talked to other deviants, i concluded that most people use the same resolution as i do.
