Well, I never said it wasn't confusing.  LOL.  Obviously, you've never been to San Francisco, CA.  I remember going to a play there when I was stationed a few miles south and I saw a guy wearing a tutu in the lobby of the theater.  Being an innocent from south Georgia, I was a WEE bit shocked.  LOL.

Well, I'm English myself, so I never went further afield than Belgium - and that was on a school trip to see the remains of Great War trenches and the memorial graveyards.

Believe me, that was a wake up call when I saw the guy in the tutu.  Needless to say, I was speechless, something rather difficult to do.  LOL.  My ex-wife, who wasn't overly fond of touching me while we were married, wouldn't let me out of her sight while we were at that play.

Ancestrally, I'm of English-Irish-Scottish descent, mostly, although I found out a few years ago that I'm a direct descendant of William the Conqueror which would include French and Norwegian ancestry as well.  As we sometimes say here in south Georgia, I'm a mutt.  LOL.  Anyway, I'd love to visit my ancestral homelands but I doubt I'll live long enough to do that.

That's pretty cool, being descended from William the Conqueror!
With the family history research that my parents did when that was a fad, the most we seemed to uncover is that a lot of our ancestors were regular farm labourers. I think there were fence-builders ("lath-hurdle makers") and thatchers in there somewhere...
What I do know is that I'm like three-eighths Scottish and mostly English... but I'm not sure how far that goes back.
I think they ran out of leads due to some periods when records got destroyed by fire or something... at least, I haven't seen them furthering this family history research for a while.
Could be cool to be descended from William Wallace or something...

Ooh.  That WOULD be cool being descended from William Wallace.  (Too bad Hollywood couldn't, or wouldn't, get his story right but they never really try, do they?  LOL.)
