Story:

Kaze, like all Foxfans was rumoured to be created by Inari, the japanese god of foxes, and Benzaiten the goddess of everything that flows and one of the Seven Gods of Fortune.

Fei Lian, the God of wind watched the two Gods and all of their Foxfans with jealousy. Fei Lian was always alone as nobody liked him due to his troublesome nature and wished he could create friends of his own. One day whilst a new Foxfan was being created Fei Lian blew a huge gust of wind, and snatched the Foxfan from the two gods as they were distracted.

The Foxfan was not yet complete and was completely albino and did not have any emotions. Distraught with what he had done, Fei Lian put a piece of himself into the Foxfan - and the Foxfan's pale fur gained new markings and a mischievous personality. A small piece of Fei Lian's soul can be seen on the Foxfan's shoulder. Just like Fei Lian this Foxfan could manipulate the wind - and so was named Kaze.

At first Kaze's fan was just plain brown until it was painted by an old man who was inspired by Kaze's abilities. Since then Kaze has spent many years travelling and telling stories of his adventures to anyone who would listen. He is also known to be a prankster and will often manipulate his wind to cause mischief. However, Kaze can also be very calm and wise if he so chooses. Because of these qualities, Kaze is very popular with young children.

Infact, the story you just read is often told by Kaze - nobody knows if he is telling the truth though... or just telling tales!
