King Zombot looks close to something I could make, but I sold my wood lathe.

The next hardest part is getting the physical reality to match your mental image. (At least, it is for me. I've not done woodwork, just sketching, poly-clay, knitting & crocheting.)

I don't know what your mental image was, but the results are awesome!

I take basswood and carve a shape close to a pic of a dragon I like. This will be the core. Then cut scales to cover the basswood. I use paper to get the shape before I cut the wood. One of the pics show the scales getting glued on.

Thank you. The core is Basswood, and the scales are different woods I had in my wood box. I think some is walnut and maple.

I came to Deviant-Art to get better my artwork, but I am surprised how many people like what I make. I didn't think much about it ( it was just a hobby to give me something to do and take my mind off work). I might have to get set up some day to sell online. It's notes like yours that make me fell better about my work, thank you.
