Here is a painting I did of Mary.
22"x30" watercolor using paints I made.

This is my interpretation in trying to convey the peace, love and wisdom. The make up and jewelry was added as an everyday attire by the common people of the times.
My hope is to convey that though Mary was godly, she did not separate herself from simple daily desires of a woman.

I believe Mary's godliness was a result of spirituality that added to her life. Not the religous rightousness that takes away from life- and does so only in hopes of gaining life after death...by repression and controlling basic human desires during life.
