Description
Ophelia, the tragic heroine of Shakespeare's "Hamlet". Painted digitally from scratch using Photoshop, and using stock from the lovely Lockstock as a reference. I love that dress! Oh, and please full view, it looks much better!Related content

"Tragic hero" is an actual theatre term, and Ophelia doesn't fit it.

Haha, he certainly did! I haven't read much Shakespeare, but I plan to. His characters are so engaging, I especially want to paint from MacBeth, I adore that one. A Midsummer Night's Dream is another I have to do.

I have to say that I was rather fond of Hamlet and Macbeth. I haven't read nearly as much Shakespeare as I should though; I must read a Midsummer Night's Dream sometime soon. Romeo and Juliet was also pretty good, but nothing that has me wanting to read it again and again. I was quite attached to Julius Caesar!

If you're not familiar with the story, Ophelia basically goes mad, hands out flowers and eventually drowns.

Thanks so much! Yes Lockstock is fantastic, she was the first stock photo model I've ever used/heard of, so I'm especially amazed by her. Till I found her gallery I never got to use a model! Hurray for Lockstock!
