Description

Where: Ashridge,
When: 6.20am, 4-5-2016
With What: Canon M2, 18-55 lens, 55mm @ f11, 2Secs
4 stitched photos in Photoshop CS6 from Phocus 3.0.

I originally put these stitched images through Lightroom via the automatic panoramic menu setting (as I normally do) and then export the resulting pano into Photoshop so I can shove a signature on it, after which, I then upload to flickr etc.

But this morning I saw that Hasselblad, a few weeks back, upgraded their Phocus software to add lot’s of new features. It’s little slow and buggy but it’s still a massive improvement over the last version. It even has layer editing!!
So I decided to see what Phocus would make of the four shots I took of the originally titled “At Last” image I posted yesterday.
Straight out of the box the colours popped more, especially when I darkened the overall image and added a slight tone of contrast.

I then put each file into Photoshop to stitch the file together. Rather than use the new panoramic stitch within Lightroom as I did before.

This is what came out of final result from Phocus. It’s interesting to see the two different ways each program dealt with the colours and how the images were stitched together. I think it changes the composition slightly too.

I think I might be editing more in Phocus 3.0 in future.

I hope you like it.

I like this one much more than "At Last", the contrast and the colors create more visual depth.
