In all cases, everyone tending to want a more feral, less anthro - domestic looks.
Now To the point that I'm starting to be asking all new subjects arriving to which side of the subject they want to portray, and likely to ask even if they have a current drawn persona character.

Hrm, upon looking at this closely, it seems that a few characters here and there seem rather out of place. I would assume that Darkdrake0 was makin' a speech, we'd all be sorta looking at him? I spot a few guys here and there looking in the opposite direction, but not to anyone specific. Perhaps maybe in the next picture, you might want to have someone next to them if they're not facing the speaker, so that it looks like they'reΒ making a discussion or the like.

When first starting this project, I had to decide on the general activity among the group. At first, I had your idea of them being in a very absorbing (but not heated) debate and planning. Later on I decided not to do that because over the course of time, some of the characters may have to be moved, while others might have to be redesigned. You know a lot of us dragon boys and girls love to redesign ourselves! With those possibles, a very orchestrated scene between everyone would soon disappear into randomness.
Β The next best thing would be to have most everyone in a relaxed pose, not always tuned into the presentation in fact. The topic may be rather mundane, like a reminder to use the designated dragon-only parking spots outside! It could actually be the banter that precedes the actual topics meeting.
Β Also there might be a few side discussions going on, plus some responding to Zorath. Remember that the hall has great acoustics plus dragon voices do ... carry.
Β Since each character would be fully drawn, then added to the big picture, wanted each to be a good stand-alone pose, and some for an orchestrated big picture would look out of place.
Β Β I do like your idea for side gatherings, and may try one in the next.
Β Β Again, my priority was filling the hall for the first part of it. Fine tuning, experimenting, creativity will enter more into it as we go.

Some of them actually have no character persona. I have offered to make one for them if they can provide a written description. If someone wishes to not be in, that's fine, their choice. I'll leave it as an open offer if they change their mind.
A few have multiple characters, but have not settled yet on the one to be used.
A few who are already posted on the picture will need a few changes to their graphics.
After all that is said and done, we have new members arriving.

Yes, in fact only about 3 Quadraped spots are left, all small. Some 12 more for Anthro and half-dragons. Really don't want them covering each other over. So soon enough, there will be a opposite side of the room, facing the podium, created. Thinking to make this with more Quadraped spots than the first side.
