The swirls make me think of fiddle-head ferns! I love the way the celadon glaze takes on a richer, more concentrated hue where it pools in the incised patterns.

beautiful, i have a question though, what cone do you fire your celadon stuff to, at school we fire it at cone 10 and it looks nowhere near as good as that

I fire at cone>6 with the True Celadon glaze in my electric kiln.

I can imagine that this would make a lovely planter for a fern that would echo the beautiful carving!

I like your taste in pottery, because it would be one hell of an expensive fern planter...and..yes the fern would look great in it , if it would fit. I do think the pottery piece would actually be to small for the fern, but I do make larger and more expensive ones...most of my collector pieces sell for around $350.00. [link]

I love carving my pieces...I used to carve in wood a long time ago...I work in seven different areas of expression and pottery is one of my favorite art forms. I have a
B.F.A. in Drawing and Prints , but playing in clay kind of won me over. And I enjoy using " Green Celadon" on many of my carved pieces, because of the way it lends itself to the contrast. This type of glaze has been around for over 3,000 years. I quess it is a sure bet.

Thank you ! There are not many green glazes that I like either, but the true green celadon is an exception.

very cute I don't usually like green as a color but the glaze is very beautifully done
