Don't cry... dry those eyes (besides, I need them in good working order to finish up the SeaSouls, for the group release/opening).
And thank you - it really makes my day to know that you think she turned out beautifully. I can't tell you how much that means.
Originally I was going to go with a snowy owl design (probably my favorite owls). But then I decided that for pattern markings and replications, the Eagle Owl gave me some lovely creams (and flecking options) and I was sold. In truth, I didn't have her design figured out - I just started working on her and she came together (a lucky happenstance).
Any pose and linework credit goes to that gorgeous ref image. The second I saw it I knew I wanted to use it. And the tail just sorta happened all on its own (granted, everything I do may be "slightly" inspired by my love of the Arabian tail). I think it drew itself, and for once it was something that I did not feel I needed to change (erase and re-sketch) a thousand times.
And thank you so much for the critique too... I really appreciate it. Now that you've pointed it out, I can see how far forward the forelegs appear (mine moreso than the reference's). I will add that to my list of things to watch for (both in references and drawings)... I had no idea that it would affect the smoothness of the gait (although, when you say that it makes complete sense). And the withers... oh wait, what wither... you are right, the neck does slide down directly into the back. I will definitely try to make a visible wither on future drawings (especially when it is as important as helping with saddle fit and wear).
Thank you so much for your (as always) awesome comment.
And let me know if you ever want a slot to her... I owe you for that precious import I have coming from you anyways. ♥

Lol, they're dry now
You're most welcome; she's a stunning horse and the art is lovely, too ^^
Oooh, snowy owls were my favourites lon before Harry Potter made them cool. I always thought they were prettiest. But not long ago I discovered something called the Malaysian Wood Owl aka, the brown wood owl) Have you heard of them? I totally fell for them; their looks/build as well as the colours and patterns are gorgeous! - lookie:
I'd love to breed a Malaysian owl Tulli Faime some day
But this works nicely; as you said, the Eagle owl has beautiful flecking and an array of creams to work with As for the art - Don't you just love it when you get that one picture that just sort of comes together as you go along? Its so rare for me, but I love those ones. And I hope the critique sounded okay (sense making, and all) - I know I tend to go off on one its always fascinated me how small things in conformation affect how the horse acts or moves, so I got a bit into it XD
And are you serious?? I'd love to have a slot to her. OMG, the possibilities! Thank you But only if you're sure (honestly, I really understand if you want to keep her slots closed for the future).
