Description My latest little wire tree, it's 2 inches tall and mounted on a polished jasper oval. I actually embedded the roots in resin, I'm working on a few more.

Do you make these with your bare hands or do you use tools?

I just call them copper wire tree sculptures. I do sell them to whoever wants one and at local craft shows. This is a very small one, I believe I sold it for around $15.00. I'd be more then happy to make you one.

how much would one cost that is 3 inches tall? and what got you into doing those?

Rhed-Dawg In reply to mrjsinn [2009-11-24 13:29:41 +0000 UTC]

One that small would be $20.00. A friend of mine has a very talented hubby who makes all sorts of metal sculptures, he had some big (over a foot tall)trees, so I decided to try some with finer wire. They are a bit addicting.

Almost forgot to ask what kind of resin did you use and did you have to mix something with it to get that multi-colored look?? Good ideal..

Rhed-Dawg In reply to movinkindaslow [2008-06-20 12:24:55 +0000 UTC]

I just used the epoxy like resin, the multi-colors are the stone itself. for the fav.!

Thank you. A friend of mine just gave me about 15 slices of different stones, they are so pretty, I can hardly wait to get some trees on them.

Cute! I can't believe its only two inches tall, it looks bigger in the photo. Looks awesome, also kind of sharp!

Thank you, the photo is a bit deceiving, it really is only 2inches tall, I wear magnifiers to work on them. The wire is so small it's not really sharp at all.

Awesome tree.I love the the colors in the stone, looks great with the copper.Looks cool with the branches all gnarly. You must have some tough fingers to twist all those wires and shape the tree.

You're so very welcome I think only pampered people, people that don't work with their hands or those with a lot of extra time have pretty hands

Rhed-Dawg In reply to simplelines [2008-06-18 01:27:49 +0000 UTC]

my hands aren't pretty but according to my sister's neighbor I have nice hooters! He's been coming to family functions for years, on Father's day when he gave me a hug hello, he whispered "nice hooters" in my ear! His wife was there and my hubby, I was in total shock and just said "hey now" in a stern voice, needless to say he did not get a goodbye hug!

Why do guys think that's an appropriate thing to say to a woman? I would have wanted to drop him like a bag of shit! A friend of mine likes to center guys like that out.If they makes remarks like that to her, she'll take a step back, put a shocked look on her face and yell "No I don't want to have sex with you or something along those lines so everyone can hear including the wife.Turns her back and walks away laughing. Then he's scrambling to explain himself.Cruel yes but they don't say it a second time!

I was so shocked, that is the first time he has ever done anything like that, I told Steve when we got in the car to come home, I didn't want a fuss made and ruin the get together, but it really creeped me out! Asshole! and his wife is so sweet! Steve just said that the guys a jerk, but that I do have nice hooters! I can tell you that it won't happen again, I'll smack him!

That would be shocking, now every time you run into him that comment will stick in your head. You have to wonder how long he's been checking you out.Creepy! I hate that kind of thing, it really makes you feel violated. I don't know why some men have to be such pigs.Disgusting!

I keep wondering, why now? I have never been flirty with him or anything, it was like out of the blue!

simplelines In reply to Rhed-Dawg [2008-06-20 13:46:53 +0000 UTC]

Have you known him a long time? Was he drinking, sometimes that gives them courage? Sometimes it just comes out if the opportunity is there like getting a hug! I hate creepy attention like that, it makes me really uncomfortable.I cut my hair short from being long, past my butt, because it got me too much creepy attention even from strangers.I wear loose clothes a lot of the time too much to hubby's annoyance. He thinks I should show off my assets and he thinks it makes him look good to be seen with me.I don't want or like that kind of attention.Sometimes attention like that can take a scary turn.

I think you should tell your brother-in-law.The fact that he was sober too makes it even creepier. Those kind of guys count on your silence to get away with inappropriate behaviour like that. They walk away feeling smug and leave you feeling violated.I've had that happen on more occasions than I'd like to remember and that feeling stays with you.It also makes you suspicious of other guys when they make an off hand comment.I'd be careful around him, sometimes when they get away with it, it makes them more aggressive and he has a good size to him. If they have no accountability for their behaviour they think it's okay and they don't stop.He is a predator even though it was
with words this time, it still leaves you with that creepy feeling inside. He does owe you a huge apology and even if they all try to blow it off, how he made made you feel was WRONG on so many levels and that to me is more important than whether he was just being a guy or whatever other stupid excuse he comes up with.

We've known him about 8 years now, he was sober! I don't know why he suddenly did that, gross! A flirty smile from someone you don't know is one thing, but what he did was unacceptable! Jerk! I'll post a photo of him! I'll call him flamingo man!

simplelines In reply to Rhed-Dawg [2008-06-20 23:53:47 +0000 UTC]

That is odd especially if you've known him that long and he's never made remarks like that before and sober to boot.Gross and creepy. What a slime ball!! I hope you don't see them very often.
