Description Silver wire tree with crystal beads mounted on a chunk of crystal rock. Tree including base is 4" tall. This was a real challenge for me but I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I wish the photo was better but there you go. I'm now working on "Summer Solstice" using gold wire and beads mounted on a yellow toned rock. MY FINGERS ARE KILLING ME!

Well done! This is absolutely beautiful!

May I ask what you used to glue the roots down? Β If it's a trade secret, then it's a good one haha. Β Cheers!

No secret at all. I use a two part epoxy called Dev-con, but any good epoxy will work. I'm anxious to see your work.

Very nice job! Especially on the roots and they look very realistic! I do have a question, if you don't mind -- how did you manage to mount it to the rock? I've a number of my own wire trees and I have been unable to find a way to mount them securely to the rock bases other than wiring them down -- no glue will hold them. I've thought about using LockTite, but it's always colored and ruins the whole thing. :\

Someone on pinterest is trying to reach you to have a tree like this made. Your name is not on photo they don't know how to reach you

If someone wanted you to make one do you do custom order. Someone has posted on pinterest they want one you may want to put your name on it they can't find how to contact you.

Thank you so much. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I use epoxy to mount them on the rocks. It works really well and stays clear. Check you local craft store.

This is beautiful! It looks like the tree is growing out of the crystal, did you do something to embed the 'roots' into the crystal?

I'm glad I stumbled onto this. I've been meaning to make something like this out of Q-Tips wrapped in wire. They are pink, and reminded me of cherry blossoms. I have my inspiration, but I'm not sure how to start. Do you have any advice on making my first wire work?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

I just started twisting, my first trees were so funny.

I have some wire I use to make jewelry. If I were to cut several lengths of it, how many strands do you think would be good to start with? I think a bunch as thick as my finger would be good, but I'm not sure, and I don't want my nice silver wire to go to waste. Where could I find some cheap stuff to practice with? Maybe pipecleaners would work?

I bought this wire at an art and craft store, it's wire for making jewelry but not real silver. It was not expensive at all.

Out of curiosity, what size wire did you use?

LOL, my hands are not delicate at all, just nimble fingers. I can't remember the size of the wire, but it was jewelry beading wire if that's any help.
