...that is exactly my intent here; to do a family friendly whimsical cartoon strip that is a refreshing change from the profanity-laden, offensive, poorly drawn unfunny cartoon strips that permeate the web. Sometimes it's nice to just smile at a bit of slapstick humor, I think. I am putting every effort into making my bears a lighthearted G-Rated escape from the typical internet comic strips.....
...I thank you endlessly for noticing that, and for your kind compliment. ---Ric C.

And I haven't heard of any existing cartoon like it, I will continue building their story, thanks so much for responding, your are a mentor for me, and Ill be watching your extraordinary page aswell, how long did it take you to finally have your comic planned and published?

...why, Linda Wilder! I believe this is the first time I have received a comment from you. I am a HUGE fan of your work---I like to think I'm your biggest fan in Alaska---and I think your various 'scapes are beautifully painted, often EXTRAORDINARILY so. I have a Fave Gallery FULL of your wonderful canvases.Your waterfalls and the way you paint the sunlight on the rapids is just incredible. Your color choices astound me!
...anyway, THANK YOU for your kind message to me. I will continue to collect your fabulous paintings and study your technique and palette choices, because, in terms of landscapes and waterscapes, etc., you are my example of HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE!! ---Ric C.

Hey, congratulations on your new career-to-be! Very nice, friendly humour here. It somehow reminds me of some of the cartoons I used to watch as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s. I'm looking forward to see more.
By the way, if you're interested in some literature about comic making I can recommend The Invisible Art by Scott McCloud. Kind of a long reflection (in the form of a comic!) about what a comic is etc. etc.

Quite humorous this comic is. I like it indeed. I love the colors and backdrops in this illustration; it is all finished so nicely. You have a charming style in drawing comics. As ~TheMarchStudios said, there needs to be more of these types of comics (and webcomics as well) out there. I certainly look forward to more!

...Thank you for your very kind note. I appreciate your encouragement of what I'm trying to do; there seems to no longer be "funny animal" type of comic strips for the children (and those grown-ups who remain young at heart...) ala Disney or Warner Brothers Bugs and Daffy--- slapstick humor and family friendly situations--- and I for one miss it. I intend to bring humor and charm to my bears, and although my strip is a home-town oriented cartoon (Kodiak), I sure hope it can be embraced by my DeviantArt colleagues--or perhaps their children---as well.
I'm afraid so much of what is passing for "comic" strips on DA is either not even remotely humorous or downright vulgar, and that is a shame. Nor is there any drawing going on; panels and characters are "constructed" with squares, ovals and circles using software programs, and as a result are totally bereft of charm or personality. I'll have no part of that...
...so once again my sincere gratitude to you. Please stand by; I will try as hard as I am capable of to see that BEARY TAILS does not disappoint. ---Ric C.

That's extremely wonderful to hear, Ric! Cheers!! I'm hopeful that it will be a long running hit!
We need more wholesome, family-friendly comics out there.. so this is really refreshing. The style is something I completely enjoy. Absolutely embodies an old-fashioned feel, a cartoon from the good old days! I love it.
