Sassori and his parents.
Personally i don't like how his father's face looks like in this pic, i could've done better. But this art is an old one and my first attempt at drawing this family. Hope you'll forgive me some blunder.

I have never heard this saying before. Could you explain it to me? I sort of understand what it means, but as a linguist I must be sure

It's just a modification of the saying "Third time's the charm".
It pretty much means if you fail at something then keep trying until you get it right, usually this is said when you fail at something twice, thus this saying is used.
