Even though I have mix feelings about Kikyo at times I also felt sorry for her too just because she was just so misunderstood seeing as how none of the others knows what it's like to be resurrected by an insane sorceress and to see the man/demon you fell in love with slowly fall in love with your spiritual reincarnation. So...yeah I would be a little pissed off at the world too a bit. But I will say this in her defense though. She did have strong confidence in her powers and didn't always get kidnapped like a certain reincarnation of hers we all know.I acknowledge that I don't own Inuyasha or the screenshots. They belong to Rumiko Takahasi

I totally agree with you on everything you just said Ranger (hope you don't mind if I call you that). Plus, Kikyo was alot more responsible then Kagome is as feels it's more important to go to school and get good grades then to accept the responsibilities of shattering the jewel and finding the missing pieces in a way she is the one responsible for the death of Shippo's father. You are so right about Kikyo not needing a man to make her feel good about herself as Kagome had to have Koga and InuYasha jump through hoops over her. Kikyo took things more seriously then Kagome did who considered the events with Naraku to be more like part-time community service.

Kikyo has always been my favorite character too, even back when I was still a kid, because of how much dignity, poise, and compassion she actually had in comparison to the likes of Sango and especially...ugghhhh...Kagome. She was never a damsel in distress and she actually went through a lot of suffering in her life. I still cannot comprehend the flack she constantly gets but probably the most popular if not the most petty would usually be that she gets in the way of Inuyasha x Kagome as a couple. Seriously, Kikyo is a great warrior priestess and whether one likes it or not she has always been one of my role models.

yes she did try to kill kagome it pissed me off so badly I knows its a cartoon but there people like this in reality crazy ex girlfriends and ex boyfriends as well too! when she got killed and thought it was inuyasha that killed her but was really naraku who did it, that just shows u how much she didn't trust inuyasha 50/50 she trust him a bit but also she did trust him at the same time deep down! she jumped on it right away to kill inuyasha because that half demon he has in him as well so she saying he is part demon they cant be trusted yet part human as well too after she said I should of know better to trust a half demon! as for kagome if that happened to her she knows better that inuyasha would never ever do that to her she would know that was a demon to pretended to be inuyasha!

kikiyo was blind by her anger, hate and doubted him! she loved him but deep down never ever trusted him completely! kikiyo wanted him to become human I really think she didn't love him for the way he was! not at all she wanted him to be a human so badly! why? cause she was a priestess the protector of the scared jewel and to protect it from any kind of demons even from him! she wanted to make inuyasha human cause she as trust issues and a shamed of falling for a half demon cause she was a priestess worried about her reputation of being a
priestess that had fallen in love with a half demon! yes she wanted to stop being a priestess as well to be a normal woman but she still want him to be human for many reasons! and if she did became a normal human woman it was also make her look bad for her cause a human and half demon would make it bad for her drawn attention I think she really cared what people think of her worried that they judge her I think that's the reason why she wanted to make inuyasha to be human so badly this way she can have a normal life! As for kagome she didn't give a dame what people think of her she didn't care! she loved inuyasha for who he was and she told him straight up I like u just the way u are u don't have to be a full blooded demon just to protect me and to be stronger u can be very strong just being a half demon! she was just telling him she would let him know that! she never ever wanted him to changed him at all if that what he desired to be a full blooded demon she don't care she understands why and so many reasons for why he want to be a full blooded demon! she just saying that she just like him they way he is that's all! I think that's why kikiyo was so jealous of kagome because she was everything that kikiyo wasn't she was nothing like kagome and that kagome changed inuyasha, like kikyo said if I have lived it would been I tended heart and soul! she didn't get to do that when she was alive and that made her angry and jealous of kagome cause kagome did everything that she did with inuyasha and kikyo didn't! yes I know kagome wished that kikiyo was gone from our lives forever and realized what she just thought and felt a shammed kikyo tried to kill kagome and did not feel bad for one bit!! she got saved by kagome many freaking times AND NEVER THANKED HER!! she was really bad for inuyasha it was very u healthy for him to be with her kagome maybe the reincarnation of her but there personalities are so different 100%! I think kikyo was selfish for her own needs and wants! kagome cares for inuyasha more then anything kagome always put the people she loves st1 she cares for everyone needs and wants and not hers! kagome matured along the way much more then kikiyo did!! when kikiyo finally died I actually happy cause she was no good for inuyahsa it was just toxic relationship a very bad one indeed! I only felt bad inuyasha and kagome. inuyasha had to go through that again 2 times!!! and she treated kagome like crap! it was for the best that kikiyo her time on earth was done a long , long time ago if kikiyo would became a live again some how or someway I think inuyasha would have still picked kagome for many many reason!! yes I don't like kikiyo never will buy that's my opinion if u like kikyo a lot then hey good u guys that's just u guys , u do u and ill do me! Okay let me just say something you are entitled to your own opinions about Kikyo and about Kagome (whom I won't get started on) and I respect your decisions. But don't go posting your same comment to each and everyone one of my motivational screenshots about Kikyo and InuYasha. If you don't like them together fine, I respect it but you don't have to post the same comment over and over. I have dealt with something like this in the past and I simply won't tolerate it now.

Like I said before if you like Kagome and don't like Kikyo that is fine and I respect your decision but I don't like Kagome and even though I am not proud of some of the stuff that Kikyo had done when first resurrected as I put myself in her position I would also be pissed about some stuff as well but she could have handled it better.

Hi njanay, I am fine. But I lost my USB flash drive, it had EVERYTHING on it. All the commission pictures that my friend worked on for me. All the anime screenshots I took over the years and my reference pictures are gone. I looked all over for that flash drive and I could not find it anywhere. This was years of hard work and all my rough draft stories.

Kikyo had some legit reason to be so confident, and she is pretty noble and caring in nature....but she CAN get frustrating just as Kagome can get annoying though, usually due to her stubbornness and refusal to speak about things clearly. It's in those moments I realize again and again that Kikyo and Kagome ARE indeed "the same person."

After watching the anime several time, I started liking her more than Kagome. Her story is so sad. Now, reading the manga, I love her even more. I find hers and Rin 's story more interesting than Kagome, Sango, Inuyasha and Miroku, Kagura. I normally do not care much for sad stories but Kikyou one got to me .

Me as well. I had such neutral feeling towards Kikyo at first but after re-watching the anime and after reading the manga I came to really have great sympathy for her as she didn't ask to be resurrected by that Demoness hag and seeing her reincarnation being in the same timeline as her who was also starting to fall in love with InuYasha didn't help her conflicted feelings. One of the reasons Kikyo said to "hate" Kagome is because she got the chance to change InuYasha's heart and she didn't which isn't entirely true.

When I first watched this anime when I was a little kid, I didn't like Kikiyo at all.
But my opinion changed when I rewatched the series when I was older.
I cried like a baby when she passed away for good in The Final Act.

I may not ship her with Inuyasha since she tried to make him full human and how she didn't like demons (I can't imagine how that can make their relationship work) but I don't hate her either.
I just with Rumiko would had written their relationship better instead of just reviving her for the sake of a love triangle.:/
She is very misunderstood indeed and I understand why she had to keep some demons away, just to protect people. But she did act envious and murderous at times and stole souls from innocent women.... But the resurection seemed pointless.
I mean, would it be hard for the writers to add more development between her and Inuyasha before her death and just keep her dead? When I mean that, they can use that opportunity to make episodes about Kikyo and the flashbacks with her and Inuyasha. And with those flashbacks, it can actually help Kagome grow stronger as a heroine since she is her reincarnation. And ugh... their hatedoms are so rabid because of this stupid love triangle.
But those are my thoughts, I do have mix feelings about Kikyo too. (Tho I hate how most of the writing made Kikyo into a mary-sue...... I mean, her perfection really bothered me about her a lot,)
If the writers didn't write her as a mary-sue, but treated her as an equal to Kagome, she wouldn't get much fandom backlash. I guess her perfection was what really annoyed me about her character, she NEEDS other negative traits to balance them. (and of course, Kagome needs some more positive traits to balance hers out)

Yes! You are right, she is very misunderstood, and that's why whenever I write Inu/Kag fics, I always write Kagome to be more adult and grown up, as opposed to the child she is in the anime. She does grow a bit emotionally, but she was a bit abusive to Inuyasha, in my opinion. Kagome is not a bad character, she does have some good points, but she's written to mirror the atypical, cryptic teenage girl, as opposed to the woman Kikyo is shown to be. You're right, Kikyo's main failure is her kind heart, and that's the only kind of heart who could understand and fully love Inuyasha for who he is.

The main reason people hate her is becouse they are all on Kagome's side.I will never understand why people like Kagome so much,to me she is a Mary Sue.
Kikyo on the other side is perhaps the most human character in the series.She was the first one to accept Inuyasha to be kind to him,and also she tried to help Onigumo,so you could say her kidness is what destroyed her.Having expirienced love,betrayal and loss she couldn't turn out different.It is only human.And if you ask me,flawed characters are way more interesting than the 'perfect ones'

Kagome is far from Mary Sue. She herself got moments of imperfections especially involving Inuyasha. Moreover, she is not as skilled as Kikyo because she was not trained but rather self-taught and people bash her for it. Heck even In-Universe characters (Inuyasha and Tsubaki) bash her for it. If she IS a Mary Sue she would have surpassed Kikyo in ALL aspects including her skills and beauty. Besides Kagome is more relateable than Kikyo especially with her insecurities about herself and loving someone who sees her as someone else. So saying that she's a Sue is injustice to what she really is, Kikyo hater or no notwithstanding.
I personally think Kikyo is closer to Mary Sue with a tragic past since she is highly respected and adored in the show and more importantly, more beautiful compared to Kagome. It's always Kikyo this, Kikyo that when talking about combat prowess leaving Kagome to walk in her shadows despite the fact that Kagome herself is smart enough to deduce solutions that gets her out of trouble but will still always be recognize as Kikyo's shadow or in one hater's comment I had read "a lame and second-rate version of Kikyo", heck even Naraku was born because some thief wants to become a hanyou just for her to notice him. With these facts is it still so inconceivable and incomprehensible why people like her more? She got the shorter end of the stick as far as her fans are concerned and people likes to vote for the underdog.
It's actually very annoying how they made Kikyo a saint when Kagome is actually far kinder, and the better one (as a miko) if she can't even see through Naraku's schemes and illusions - a feat I am proud to know that Kagome had done even untrained - and died from it. True, she accepted Inuyasha but she wants to change him.

I had mixed feelings for Kikyo but Kohaku was a pain, he was so weak-minded for letting Naraku control him the way he did. Also he not as innocent as he appeared in the anime either.
