Description This guy was actually done a while back, but was set aside for a  while. So I've recently added the wing membrane and finally finishing it. This dragon skeleton has fully posable joints down to every joint in his fingers and the jaw. He was a pain in my behind but an enjoyable experiance non the less.
He is currently taking residence on top of the TV

This is without a doubt an impressive design, the only two flaws I see (Which might just be me) are the ribs look a little too small and flat and there's too many membrane in the wings. Aside from that this is really good, I love the see through look of the wings and the tyrannosaurs looking skull. All of the bones look realistic and have a very good beige colour, it's also cool how the whole thing is posable! The legs look even length and the current pose of the skeleton looks like what a dragon would look like if it was angry. Good job! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

May I inquire about the bones' material? If it's Sculpey, I'm even more impressed; that stuff is wicked fragile! When I want to make thin pieces like that, I use Apoxie Sculpt.

Excellent design of the skeletal structure.

Thank you ^^ I mixed saw dust (wood dust) with wood glue (white glue / PVAc glue). The result was a super strong product, I love it but it sticks to hands a lot so it's a bit tricky to work with XD

I would imagine, until it starts to cure a bit, anyway. Apoxie Sculpt has the same problem. Super strong in the end, but sticky to work with at first.

Even if the material is being difficult at first, it's worth it in the end If only there existed a perfect in every way material XD

This is a stunning job well done. Congrats! Eh, and what did you use to attach the stockings(membrane) to the bones?

Thank you! just regular PVA glue

Nice but 7 fingered wings seems a bit excessive, eh design choices aside it's still a fine sculpture and the fact that he's poseable is a great bonus, I always wanted poseable jointed bat wings myself just to use as a reference since bad wings are complicated but are also a very common design motif for various critters.

I figured since a dragon is a massive creature it would need more support in the wing. But eh, it's a mythical creature, just about anything works, it all comes down to personal preferences

It's easy enough to make, so if you really want it you should try making them

Ah that makes sense.

Making models is a foray I have little to no experience in so I really don't know where to start with that.

Start with a sketch, Take references from photos, then just jut line up the wire with the bone structure on your wing sketch and fix them together, proceed by  filling in the bone mass around the wire. For the membrane I used stockings
You can probably find tutorials on how to do that if you look for them or at least find something similar to what you need.

This is amazing. I've never seen anything like it.
The only thing I can see that would make for a better photograph is a sharper light somewhere above that makes the skeletal model cast a shadow so that it stands on the ground. Now it almost seems to float. The shiny cloth makes a good contrast to the dull bones.

Thank you
Hmm perhaps a shadow would add to it, in my opinion, though, he'd look best in a natural environment, on a rock or tree

Incredible!!!  What did you use for the joints?  Or is the whole skeleton on a wire armature?

That's right , the whole thing has a wire core and the bones sculpted over it
