Description I started a 'Feather Project' to practice with feathers, but it turned out to be more like a 'Random Bird Project'. I want to learn more about drawing birds, and there's more to a bird than just its feathers. How about strange bill shapes like this hornbill!
Jep. This is exactly what it sounds like. A silly excuse for my "feather-drawing-avoidance-behaviour". Feathers are just damn hard to draw

Quick study (~ 1 hour)
Materials used: graphite pencils in the range of 4B to 2H on very cheap paper that is pretty rough and yellowish (but I kind of like the texture it gives..).

White-crowned hornbill (Berenicornis comatus) (not to be confused with the white-crested hornbill! I was.. for a moment.. XD)
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened.

This is awesome. I love how there's obvious detail, but you didn't go too overboard.

Thank you! Yes, I am practising with the amount of detail and efficacy of a drawing. My Grey parrot drawing , for example, is very detailed and that takes a lot of time.

Really nice how you give depth in the eyes and how the feathers look natural. I see great improvement in all of your art - and seeing that this is done in 1 hour is impressive too!
