Description This funny little fishy has some sort of surface on its forehead that is either like the suckers on octopus tentacles or like rubber. When it swims to the tank wall it kind of sucks itself to the glass and just seems to be enjoying its time with the belly toward the tank interior. I've never seen anything like it before.

it is a lamprey, it uses it funny shaped mouth to suck onto parasites that hook onto larger fish, such as sharks.

it is most certainly not a lamprey. lampreys have lots of small teeth with which they stick to something by biting it. also lampreys are a lot smaller and do not have fins. this animal is some sort of saltwater fish with a regular mouth and this adhesive structure on its forehead. I can't find its name but I'm still looking

okay found it. it's a whitefin sharksucker and in nature it uses the adhesive structure on its head - as suggested by the name - to stick to sharks' undersides. in the tank it seemed to enjoy the glass wall better than any of the sharks.
