Description Another page for this Iron Man special project. It was basically a book for the American Welding Society promoting a new welder they had developed. So the AWS contracts Marvel to make a comic book where Iron Man teaches kids the benefits of welding and then beats up some bad guys through the power of welding!!!! Hence panel 4 in all its welding glory.

If these pages look rushed its because I had 2 weeks to draw 16 pages. At the same time as this I was drawing Forgotten Realms for Devils Due, a regular monthly book. Ugh, that was too much work.

I read this comic last summer, and I really enjoyed it. I had no idea that you could weld underwater or that welding was used with nanotechnology before I read that comic.

Thank you for getting people interested in welding.

, yeah it's been awhile since I've seen one of these floating around. Glad you liked it. it was my second Marvel comic I'd ever drawn.

I always heard the welding can be dangerous. Pretty cool though to do a project like this that can benefit a lot of people.

LOL, on the next page the bad guy's metal face plate is welded to the floor. Dangerous indeed.

for being rushed they still look really good. that is alot of work though. what, were you drawing like 3 pages a day or something with this and your monthly?

Crap it was close to that. Everyone has these kinds of horror stories. i couldnt say no to the project, so you have to figure out a way to get it all done. that usually equates to 16-18 hour work days and little to no sleep. I did that for about a week and then was sick for nearly a month.

Thats just the crazy cycle you have to live sometimes you know.

Hmmm, this is about the level where I wish my tight roughs were for Prof. Larison right now. It is all so nice and clean and clear. Lovin' the Iron Man in panels 1 and 4!
