Doumeki+Watanuki~~ I'm addicted to these two right now, they even managed to draw me away from KuroFai for a while xD;; (be impressed!!)This pic was inspired by the really really awesome AU fic by flacedice called Supernatural Entanglements~~ [link]
This one is probably my favourite though I recommend all her stuff x33
(oooo there're new chapters~~ *o* )
Though this doesn't represent anything thats happened in the actual story I just wanted to try and fit in different elements that are in it (the arrow, the outfits, etc)
Doumeki's kimono was a headache to do but with the help of google and lots of patience I think it turned out alright ^^ ;

<_< When you were drawing this, what exactly did Doumeki get hit with? O_o That's a lot of bloodied skin. D:

I think when I was drawing this I was imagining something with really nasty claws going for Watanuki and Doumeki coming in at the last second. <3 Nothing specific in mind, just wanted loads of blood to up the drama haha

And Doumeki would do that, never mind that it's the lord trying to protect the prince. He'll be lucky if Watanuki realizes he's wounded before starting in on him. <_<

oh thank you so much. But I should ask because I'm a wuss like that. Is it a scary story? I can't do horror. Or is it just like the regular level of supernatural of the manga/anime? xxxHolic is as scary as I can handle and that's just barely.
and as for the chapters. I'm not worried about the amount. I love long stories. But the thing that tics me off about some of them is that they seem to just drag on and on.

Why are all of your pieces so awesome? What is your secret?
Maybe it's because of the characters? After all, a drawing of Doumeki and Watanuki has a great potential. Especially when they are so well drawn and with such vivid expressions. And who wouldn't love seeing the usually expressionless man protect the one he cares for with all his strength, holding him close even when he's badly hurt? Angst and romance is always so interesting! Beautiful and original clothes also help to make this drawing awesome.
Could it also be the colouring? It's not everyday that we see a piece so well coloured with crayons. It was also clever to use colours that can be found on others places in the drawing: yellow are the leaf pattern and Doumeki's eyes, blue are the flower pattern and Watanuki's collar, red are the blood and the arrow's vanes... And we shouldn't forget the black almost everywhere. So not only are the colors really nice, they give a sense of harmony to the drawing!
I guess that's why this work is so great. I can't help but love it!

Ohh I'm glad to hear that you find the colours have a sort of harmony, it makes me feel that I really am absorbing some of the stuff from my art classes~~ x3
I just love the dynamic that these two have. Watanuki's such a prickly spaz but when he's really in trouble, sturdy, dependable Doumeki is always there, no matter what Watanuki might say to try and push him away (and he's said loads), he always stays by his side. <333 And really, the fact that deep down Watanuki really does trust him makes me want to do loads and loads of drawings like this where he's put himself on the line and gone too far and Doumeki has to protect him.

...true, it is rather disappointing when a story you like ends up being short... but when there is just so MUCH of it... *looks wearily in the direction of flacedice's account*
You see, I have this tendency to try to read everything there is of a story in one sitting, and "one sitting" would probably transalte into several days in this case. I'm bad at pacing myself. ^^U

haha I feel I totally understand you xD;; There have been many times where I stayed up til three to just read a litttttle bit more so that I could finish whatever great story i had found. ^.^;; (and then went to work the next day and wasn't able to concentrate on anything besides wanting to go home and read more... lol)

ya thats the one thing i hate about markers. the thing i hate about pencil crayons is the little white gaps it leaves between lines. i really get ticked at em.
