A RWBY fancomic revealing my OTP – Blake-x-Weiss. Monochrome/Checkmate.

Classic anime-style accident which totally could’ve happened (Volume 2 Episode 2).

What with Sun and all, I figured this ship wasn’t going to happen, though I did see a lot of potential for it at the end of Volume 1 and I really wished it could’ve happened. I feel this would have been one of if not THE most powerful pairings in the series.

For one, there’s the whole Romeo-Juliet factor, what with the conflict between the Schnee family/Schnee Dust Company and the White Fang. I’m sure that alone is probably cliché and all, but I think RWBY makes it pretty powerful. The SDC with its “controversial labor forces and questionable business partners” (likely including ill-treatment towards Faunus) as Blake put it. The White Fang turning towards terrorism, particularly targeting the SDC (likely for what I mentioned earlier). I think the connection between Weiss and Blake’s backgrounds is more extensive than the classic one seen in Romeo and Juliet. And it wouldn’t be just a love connection between two people on opposite sides of a conflict – each is striving to repent for and fix the corruptions stemming from their backgrounds, helping and supporting each other as they work towards their goals. A love connection stemming from that would then strengthen their efforts, and/or perhaps vice versa.
