This story is told from the perspective of both Megan McKenzie and Lilim Alterion

Megan : "It was the right judgement call on my part. Lilim saw my deliberately quick moves, which put her in an awkward position so she quickly adjusted. Her fists were stinging a bit more... awesome. She was starting to really get into it, but she was still somewhat skittish.

Furthermore, it looks like she was going for the body. Now at first, I thought she was doing a misdirect so she could go for a face shot. Testing that theory though, her jabs to my face were much lighter than what she hit my body with. This won't do. Where's that head hunting Lilim that I've heard so much about?

Time to up the ante."

Lilim : “With Megan moving faster and hitting me harder I did my best to match it.

I targeted her body and swung with a harder right hook. Megan reacted and deflected it smoothly with her left arm.

I then saw an opening and I snapped her head back with two swift left jabs to her face.

“Bap! Uuh! Bap! Uuh!” Her head lightly flung back.

The punches landed perfectly but I made sure they were light. I was definitely smacking her body harder, but I kept holding back more when I targeted and landed on her beautiful face. Again this was suppose to be a spar and not a fight for the world title. I didn’t want to bloody her up or worse knock her senseless and have her hate me for it. I didn’t know Megan well enough to gauge on what I could and couldn’t do with her. And I’m not gloating but my punching power is a little dangerous. I knew Megan was bigger than me but still. I didn’t want to risk it. So as always I erred on the side of caution and kept holding back as we sparred.

We kept going back forth. Sometimes I would push her close to the ropes and then she’d get more aggressive and push me back closer to the ropes. But we both were doing a good job on our defense and footwork on staying out of the ropes or corners.

“Bap! Uuhh!” My head jolted back after Megan’s right cross crashed into my forehead.

That one was harder and I sort of enjoyed the level of fighting getting more heated. My competitiveness was getting stronger. But I had to keep it in check. This was not a real fight. This was not a real fight. This was not a real fight. I kept saying to myself. But I was starting have more fun. We were both working up a good sweat.”
