M22 Specter
An experimental model of the M22, it is one of the rarest weapons of the Republic. Only 100 were ever built and less than a dozen survived the war.
Its reduced production is due to "Cold Arc" technology, which is made up of an extremely rare metallic composition found in the Crisal mines, in the underground caverns beneath the capital. This technology allows for the extremely high heat reduction necessary for high-powered weapons (such as magnetic and energy propulsion weapons) without increasing the weight or size of the weapon.
For this reason, the M22 Specter is one of the few weapons capable of firing CFO (Contained Fusion Overhead) ammunition that is capable of creating area explosions without limiting the anti-armor function of the projectile. The excessive energy production and recoil of the ammunition is counteracted by "Cold Arc" technology.
This machine gun would only be delivered to special units and veteran artillerymen, and its production would be stopped due to the shortage of metal, which was destined for the production of orbital weapons, and the loss of the factory and plans during the battle of the capital.
