Description I've had this laying around for a few months now. I'm still not happy with it at all--it's somewhere between full-fledged deviation and scrap, in my mind--but I put it up in the name of getting SOMETHING up here, even if it's not perfect.

So here we have the three forms of Vaati, the Wind Mage of legend. From a tiny Minish the size of your thumb, to the Hylian form he took when he stole his master's magical cap o' wishes and entered the world of Hyrule, to the monster he became when he lost himself to The Evil What Lives In The Heart O' Hyrule, yessirree.

Figures not to scale.

I couldn't for the life of me find a way to make the image in a single layer fade into transparency. I cheated as best I could on Hylian!Vaati to get him to do that. But it doesn't look right. Something in the sizes and composition just plainly sucks, but I don't know what, to fix it. I'll be more cautious next time about mooshing three different drawings together (you can find the linearts for this in my scraps.)

But anyway, it's Vaati. I likes me some Vaati, evil and all, the megalomaniacal jerk. Heh.

Everything in this drawing is, of course, copyright to Nintendo, and possibly Capcom.

What an excellent Vaati piece It is quite rare to see fanart of his demon or Minish forms, so to see all three main forms together in such a nicely laid out composition was a very pleasant surprise indeed

I love the style you have renderred his forms in-very original and an interesting style, that I feel makes his Minish and Demon forms look especially cool [I really really love how you drew the demon form...]

Good colouring brings everything out nicely, and the background is simple, but so incredibly effective with the gradual darkening towards the bottom
All in all very nice work I for one really like it

Thanks for the comments! I likes me some Vaati, evil and all, so for me these three basic forms are integral parts of the character--though I don't think he's as fond of his Minish one as I am. Or, as he's fond of disdainfully telling people in my imagination, "I wear what form I choose." It is indeed harder to find fanart of his monster form, though...I think most fans prefer the pretty hair for some reason.

Gradients are my favorite background cheat, heh.

Wind Waker actually had a revived Ganondorf as the villain--man, was he tough to beat, with those two swords of his. People complained about the cel-shaded style, and that the game was too easy, etc. but I liked it.

Vaati was the villain from the Minish Cap and Four Swords games, when Nintendo was thinking that it might be nice to get away from Ganon for a while.
