No idea if it was accurate, but I remember hearing it mentioned on the relevant episode of History of Power Rangers saying that they'd claimed that the, uh, deal with Zack and Trini was an accident they didn't catch for ten episodes.
....Honestly, though, I'm glad we got Zack.Β Regardless of unfortunate costume choice, Zack was awesome!

I know. He's easily one of the most bad@$$ Power Rangers ever. But according to the picture the color of your skin dictates what Ranger you get to be. So, if he's been green, white, red, and black your skin changing to four different colors would tell a doctor that something is horribly wrong.
