I used a Sony 300 mm lens. I bought it in 2008 for $175 I think. Took this photo during winter, my feet were icy after this forest walk.

There are places around here just none that are close enough to go to within minutes. I like watching the sky close to sunset to see if its going to be good or not and then head to a spot. Need more nature here.
(sorry if you know this already) You can transfer you slides somewhat easily with a scanner that allows it. I converted 40 year old slides this year from my parents. Only pain was dust and scratches on the slides. Cleaned them up in Photoshop.

Yeah! It looks like the background is frozen in time, only the bird is full of life.
