thank you! this was fun, i like getting lost in detail sometimes,

Β although i have to try not to over-do it.

Gorgeous costumes & vehicles! Always inspiring to see cool non-European steampunk/dieselpunk.

Weird...I like it! Is it from any existing setting?

thanks! nope! I guess is has a space opera/ steam-diesep-punk/oriental vibe but it's not based on any existing setting!

You've been working on some pretty cool concepts if I look throughout your portfolio. Haven't you considered perhaps creating your own setting, or doing work for an existing one?

thank you!

i have cosidered it, altho i can only work on the world building in my spare time, and i usually use that for improving my skills which i think are not up to par yet. I'd love to work on an existing one, but I can't really think of one in particular (star wars...?). What do you think i'd be suited to work on? I'd love to hear some suggestions regarding existing settings

Sorry for my late response, been busy!

I noticed many scifi, but also fantasy, settings seem to go for that more 'generic cgi' styled stuff, which I find to be rather dull...as in, the artists are skilled at what they do, but their style has saturated the market. Personally I think you stuff would work best for more fantasy oriented stuff, be it medieval stuff like D&D, steampunk or stuff in space like Star Wars (which I consider to be fantasy rather than scifi) or Dune.

If you're looking for a setting to practise on, I'm currently working on a setting that's still very much a WIP, we're always looking for concept artists, so it might be a nice chance for you to just do practise for it: trollsforge.proboards.com/boar…

You could also try to just send in some open applications to work as a freelancer, and see where that will get you. I'll look around a bit for you and pass along stuff that might be up your alley.

Yeah, i think that genre of generic scifi to be a bit dull too, the more mixed up, the better.

I see, thank you for giving me your input. I do like D&D and Star Wars a lot, although now their "look" is so

defined and studied that it doesn't leave that much freedom in design, i think. But hell yeah, i'd love to work on that kind of thing sooner or later.

thanks for your reply!
