Oooook ^^ so this is my gift to Kiki for his birthday ^^ me was so lazy to finish this in time though.. blame the annoying headache I had yesterday ^_^Uso, just like the last year, this time I also drew an RPG illustration for the kid's birthday. on this pic you can see him all grown up. in this story he has trained Tori, the son of Diana and Mu (Tori belongs to :iconMarynchan"). it didn't come out exactly the way I wanted to, especially the 'morning shine' ^^. anyways, I hope you'll like it ^^

I really like this. I just love seeing an adult Kiki as the Aries saint. Cool thing is that it looks right. I could totally see him as the Aries saint. Plus, the cloth looks good.

As for the morning shine you were going for, think you did a good job with it. Though it also looks like the sun is setting. But either way I think it makes the picture look good.
Quick question if you don't mind, was it completely done in color pencil? I'm just wondering. :3

yes, I usually use pencils. first I make the sketch with a clack pencil, then scan it to erase all the unwanted lines and print it out to color it with color pencils ^^ I do it all the time.
as for the sun, well, once I was on a trip to Greece we had to wake up early for our fieldtrip to Santorini island and the sun was about to rise ^^ the sky looked a bit something like this that day too ^^

Wow. That's a cool trick. I usual just ink my outline in pen, erase the pencil lines, then color. xD
Yreally good with color penicils, by the way. It's blended so well and the color is even all around(if that made any sense. xD)
The fact that you said you've been to Gresse just made me totally jeaouls. xD Gressce is pretty much my dream vacation.
But anyway! :3 It looks like it would be a pretty site. It's also pretty cool that you were able to use that site for your picture. And you did good a job job since it does look like a sunrise.

well, I haven't been to Greece itself, we only visited Crete island, but I'll go there someday as well, I swear ^^
as for the outlines, well, since my sketching is usually such a mess, all the lines that are not needed and difficult to erase leave marks on the colors so I made up such a trick to get a sparkly clean lineart to color ^^

Lol. My sketches are like that as well. I don't know why it's so hard for me to draw one single straight line instead of going over it repeatedly. Then I end up with a big black line that looks horrible when I erase. xD I really like that trick. From what I can see with your other stuff it works.

it's really easier to color. the colors don't blend into the black lines like when you color a sketch itself

Yeah. I noticed that. When try to color, sometimes the ink will mix with the colors and it looks very bad. Your way sounds nicer. And you don't have to worry to much about messing up.
