Fantastic. I love it that he is peeking, like playing hide and seek. Other than that good focus and nice choice with the B&W. Maybe the wall/door he is behind of is a bit distracting, and maybe i'd put it vertical and not oblique. But still and most of all I think this is a very good photo, because it captures with perfection the spirit of childhood.

So micheavious and care free. He looks like he has been play fully tormenting someone and as he wished they have chased him, now if he looks cute maybe he will get away with it.

The soft sepia tones work very well in this piece. The shot is such great quality. I am curious as to what camera you use?

I love the detail on the freckles, it amplified the youth wonderfully.

Thats what this says to me, children are perfect. period. the lock... it adds more meaning, but he is still smiling.

i take care of my cousins
My aunt doesnt have enough money to pay for a real babysitter or anything like that, so i am at her house everyday watching the kids...kids scare me sometimes.
I am afraid
for them because they do not seem to be afraid...i am sad for them because i know some day they will not be so full of life...

Someday they will grow up and see what the world is...

Kids are so happy and perfect, then we mess them up like we were messed up... Thats what the lock means to me

Like somewhere inside we all have those child like feelings and we are all perfect somewhere inside. It has just been locked away.

It is a beautiful picture. It really really captures the excitement in his eyes.

I do not like to be reminded of my childhood most of the time. i get that sad feeling. almost creepy emotions.
this picture and your description remind me of that. I love it though because its the truth.
