Items and Paint: A band of braided leather ensnares her upper right foreleg, snake fangs dangling from it. She seems to have some obvious fascination with these creatures, for another leather band is kept on her tail, decorated with rattlers from deceased rattlesnakes.
She decorates her coat with glowing fungi periodically, and changes the patterns around from time to time, as inspiration strikes. She prefers the cool glow of teal.

Details

Personality: Obsessive, grudge-holder and vengeful, are just some of the negative traits used most often to describe Kitku. She's a doe that keeps mostly to herself and boasts an impressively short list of friends, most of whom have vanished or died in recent years. Kitku does generally not play well with others. What she does, she does to further her own goals, whether they be to have a child sired by the King (check!), rise to the rank of shaman and beyond (not so check'ed) or securing the best food around for herself and her son. She's manipulative, cunning and at times terribly cruel, only letting her soft, loving side be seen by Galen.

Kitku is determined to master her magic and herbal lore, to rise through the ranks of the herd and claim the title of Shaman. She believes herself destined for greatness and understands that the only way to reach it is through hard work and determination. She practices her magic almost day and night, often resulting in the neglect of her son which she fails to realize.

Growing up with an emotionally distant guardian and not her biological parents, Kitku never learned exactly what it was like to be a mother or a family. She fails to understand exactly what her son needs aside from a home, food, his good health and the occasional loving snuggle. Although she strives to be unlike the parents who abandoned her, she finds it incredibly difficult to deal with a family and push her own selfish needs aside. But do not be fooled, this doe very much loves her son and if anyone attempts to hurt him she will retaliate with deadly force!

History: Kitku was born and raised in the caverns of Oakfern, a child of two pure-blooded Fawntakers. Unfortunately she does not recall much of her parents as one day they simply did not return. She never learned what happened to them, but felt abandoned and betrayed by those that were supposed to care for her most in the world. Thankfully she did not have to be on her own for long as an acquaintance of the small family soon took her in. Her name was Grydah, an old shaman of Oakfern. She was the sort to guard her emotions well and found that raising Kitku was more of a favor to the herd than the small fawn herself. Kitku grew up knowing very little of the family bonds of love, instead growing cold as she bundled up her emotions, steeling herself against the cruel world.

Grydah's guardianship set Kitku on the road towards becoming a shaman herself, absorbing everything she could from the clever doe before she eventually succumbed to old age. Alone again, Kitku grew bitter and aggressive, feeling abandoned and betrayed once more, irrationally so. For years she drifted from teacher to teacher, trying to make herself stand out so the Oracle might pick her to be an apprentice. Time and time again she was overlooked, adding to her frustration and anger. When she began to think the Oracle had a personal vendetta against her, Kitku looked for other ways to rise in rank and cement her position and the idea of a strong child to aid her took root.

She became pregnant with Galen, fathered by Nazam and as her belly swelled, King and Oracle clashed in a fight to the death, leaving only the chestnut stag standing. Kitku saw that as a sign from Gealach himself that she would not only birth a strong son, but that the road to her goal, becoming a Shaman, was free of obstacles. However, becoming a mother sidetracked Kitku considerably, as she struggled with caring for this new life and her pride, which kept her from seeking help anywhere.

Kitku is still reaching for her goal and now that her son is older and doesn't require constant attention, she is once more focused on attaining the title of Shaman.
