Here's the second drawing I did for the final project in my still life drawing course, where I decided to make food the unifying element. For this drawing, I chose to make sweets and pastries the subject.

It was a challenge drawing the surfaces of a lot of these pastries. In past drawings, the subjects I drew had smooth, consistent surfaces, but when it comes to crescents and danishes, you suddenly find yourself dealing with wrinkled and uneven surfaces full of tonal nuances and tiny shadows. I think the end result isn't too bad though.

I know the bottle in the back looks like a milk bottle, but it's actually a Starbucks Frappuccino bottle. I figured the sweet drink would fit in with the pastries. As for the small squares, those were small fruit flavored gelatin candies. Everything else in the drawing is probably pretty easy to figure out, but they include strudels, a danish, a crescent, a cinnamon roll, cookies, a cupcake, and doughnuts. The drawing was done with graphite pencils and a graphite stick for the background.
