the colors of the sun have never semed so muddled and dirty before to me. The black lines really give order to the chaos of the red and yellows relationship. A solid bold statement. Very nice!

Awesome. Congrats on the DD! I think this is a really intense bit of abstract art, worth the time to look at for a while and see the details in it. For something so simple, it contains a lot of small details.

Aww, most images are so much better in real life, where you can see the texture of every bit of the paint, the little streaks from brushes, the rough blend of the paint... ee. I do traditional media occasionally and never put it on DeviantART, really, it just doesn't look right online. My scanner just refuses to capture the texture and depth.
That's the cost of putting traditional media online... it loses something. Maybe its SOUUL. >.>
And yeah, I didn't have much to SAY about it but I did take a few minutes to consider your painting. I found it facinating. Abstract's just like that, it needs a minute to look over and consider more than just 'oh, hey, that's a pretty portrait'. It's more about the color, the light, the composition and a lot of other stuff.

It's interesting how evocative even hints of lips can be.
With the rest of the expressive machinery of the face absent, those lips might have only uncertainty and fear left to express.
