Aaaaaaah~~~~ This was so much fun to work on!! Q7Q<3333 I literally was trying to spend more and more time rendering it haha

My main plan with this picture was to just have fun with the colors sO IM SORRY IF IT LOOKS LIKE RAINBOW PUKE I COULDNT HELP MYSELF I WAS READING AND CATCHING UP WITH HOUSEKI NO KUNI AND THEN REREAD IT TOO AND--- THE RAINBOWS--- THE INFLUENCE WAS TOO MUCH _(:3_)TL Welp also both characters have beautiful designs with mostly black and neutral colors so it was suuuper tempting to add various highlights to them! ´7` And welp, as you can see, I really couldnt resist the temptation in the end ;7;
(Funnily enough, to achieve some specific brush-strokes I had in mind, I started using a Sai-brush that I was using as my main brush back in 2012. I think I will start incorporating this brush in my drawings again! It blends colors nicely .v.b )

Now as for these two~ Ooooh boy~~ What a pair ;u;<333 They were separated when they were children, but got re-united again, with William (to the left) becoming Allister's (right) knight ´u` Tragically though, during a fierce battle, Allister died, and William, wanting to re-unite with him, stabbed himself with his sword aaaaah~~~ QAQ
Chibi provided me with the backstory of these two, PLUS SONGS--- MUSIC REFERENCES-- AND I THINK THIS IS ANOTHER REASON WHY THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN <333
Basically by reading their story and listening to the songs, I really really wanted to draw a depiction of them both joining each other in heaven _(:3_)TL So I drew William stabbing them both with his sword, but I didn't want to draw blood, since I wanted to avoid the picture having a "too much of a dark theme" to it. So at the places where the sword pierces them, I just... added flowers XD Because yeah, if in doubt, just add sparkles and flowers!! //pro artist tip right there pfffff

Also William's long hair holds a very special meaning and sentimental value to Allister, and he really likes caressing it, so I wanted to also include that in the picture ´u` I think this little gesture also makes the picture a bit "softer"??? To me at least! It helped moving away from any "dark theme" that could be attributed to the stabbing ;7;9 But welp, this is how I see it. I wonder if other people will percieve it as such. I hope it doesn't look like "back-stabbing" omg because this is definitely nothing like that since William has served Allister as his loyal knight to the end! /0/ //YOU CAN SEE IM VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS COMMISSION FOR SOME REASON HAHA HELP

Also once again, I used a very simple background composition ;u; Since I had decided to use so many colors on the characters, and they themselves also have a few details to their designs, I didn't want to overload the bg. So I simply added some sky/sun/universe stuff (???? I... dont know what to call it omg) just as a connection to "universe/afterlife", and some battleflags in the bg /0/ An idea was to draw a battlefield with blood and stuff but I scrapped it since it was not my desired focus °^°
I will try to make my bgs more complicated again haha this habit is really going on for too long
