Drawn for three reasons: One - It's Valentines day, two - it's 's birthday, and three - it's been a while since I've drawn a Sonic/Amy picture.

I bet it'd be usual for Amy to spend Valentines day chasing Sonic around trying to whack him with her mallet but however hard she tries doing that probably wouldn't catch Sonic off guard anymore. However, Sonic returning some emotion would come to her as a surprise. So here we have Sonic jumping out of the way just before Amy hits him and giving her a rose. Amy looks shocked because it happened so fast.

And yeah, I know a lot of Sonic/Amy pictures have Sonic acting OOC but I really don't think him giving Amy a quick display of affection is OOC, it's just the idea of Sonic randomly admitting that he loves Amy and wants to marry her that can be OOC. He did give her a rose in Sonic X afterall.
