Blessed Mother...Aset! She is radiant! I love the way you've worked her symbology in to the piece! I have some friends that I would LOVE to show this to! They are my sisters in Isis and they would simply adore this painting! One of the best representations I've seen!

*nods* very much so...I must admit I can not recall the last time I was so moved by art...I can say I started painting and people encouraged me to do things along a very commercial line. Rarely have I allowed myself to express what I would call 'evident truth/beauty'. I think I had forgotten myself and by chance you have reminded me.

I too worked along commercial lines..to make others 'happy'...then i decided to paint what truely makes my heart happy..my own inner exploration...like being myself touches others!!
I like you saying "by chance"...life does seem 'chancy'...

I feel there is no greater happiness than love, this being so when you create from that place that is YOU and all that entails both mundane and spiritual, you are dancing through creation creating your art from that universal source that is Love.
The trouble with commercial art for one who is spiritually inclined is you can feel the deception with every stroke of the brush.
The Navajo people have a saying that can be translated as: Truth and beauty are synonymous.
It is one of my favorite sayings. Simple but effective.

Oh yes...as a man I was always a little shy portraying beauty..then understanding that beauty was a flowering lotus of truth allowed me to be freer of gender games...I always wanted to paint and explore the Goddess...

Ah the gender games...for the importance people choose to give it, social stigma is certainly changeable. We go from a matriarchal society to a patriarchal society and back again...It is very much like fashion, one day orange is the new black and the next day you are a social pariah to be seen in it. The fads of gender roles are no different. In the end we are all the same and we are all so very very different.
I find it extremely refreshing to see a man portray the Goddess with such obvious enthusiasm and I do look forward to your future work.
