Description I had no idea the breed was this intense! I met this boy and spent some days with him.
I'm used to the slow pace of a Tibetan Mastiff and Hubbe the Amstaff made me realize that there's alot of different energies out in the dogworld.
I must admit I prefer lazy and cool (like Zodd is).

A stunning boy he was, none the less

Breed: American Staffordshire terrier (Amstaff)

Would you mind if I used this as a reference in my Attempts series of drawings? I would link back to the original image and your profile in the finished drawing (example ).

XD I prefer intense dogs. They make me have to move, since I'm lazy. XD

Haha, that's a new way to look at things XD
Intense dogs always make me so tired with all that energy. I am a forever fan of laidback dogs ^^

AST/Pit Bulls are cool 'cause when they don't have nothing to do, they're just acting like lazy bulldogs and then jumping on vertical walls, do somersaults and climbing on trees

Would drive me mad, but to each his own

I mean that amstaff can be really calm and lazy when nothing happens even if he can act like real gamedog ; ) I guess staffys are so much more energetic.

Ok ^^
I have not seen one acting like that, but I have only met a handfull and only in stressed situations. I am sure they can relax like any other dog (=

Terriers are known for their high energy. I would know, I have a terrier mix, and he's a hand full! Love him lots nonetheless.

I had a terrier once - she was lazy and no fun at all.
But I think she was the exception to the rule

Lol, your story makes me smile. Terrier breeds in general are indeed tenacious. You've really got to be ready for them

Hehe, well that is perhaps true. I had a Cairnterrier once upon a time and she was a very timid and calm and obedient dog (very boring dog really), so I guess I was totally unprepared for an actionpacked Amstaff!

Yes, that's the best part with meeting alot of different dogs and dogbreeds - you really get to know what you want in a dog. I want my lazy Zodd, no doubt about it

Thank you.
They are becoming more and more popular all over the world, aren't they?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

solefield In reply to SaNNaS [2008-09-05 21:36:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, here in the US, the AKC registered "Am Staff" is not as popular as the American Pit Bull Terrier, but they are often considered the same in regards to breed specific legislation and such.
A lot of people don't consider them different breeds as some are dual registered. It all gets confusing.
I belong to several "pit bull" forums, so get to see a lot of the gorgeous Am Staffs from the US and around the world.
It's always cool to see the international representations.

I agree with you - it's always a treat to get to see "you own breed" from places all over the world. My favorite part of the internet
