What's really amazing about this shot is how sharp and focused it is! You can see the little hairs on the butterfly's back so clearly! Really beautiful

Well, I caught it (I'm pretty good with a net ), then let it go in my conservatory (so he could fly around but not escape completely) and then it was mainly a case of patience coaxing the thing gently on to my hand. It probably took about 30 mins to get a decent shot. Afterwards I just took it outside and let it go.

Wow, a lot of work went into getting that single shot. You must have been determined to capture that butterfly on film.
